As I wrote earlier. I’m on DVR delay. Kid has karate tonight and I’m stuck taking her.
Trying to keep the home winning streak alive. Georgetown has really looked like it is getting better further into the season. They were beaten by a ‘Nova team that is playing well and Scottie ‘effing Reynolds has been insane for the last couple games.
Should be a very good one. I’ll post thoughts later tonight after watching it.
we deserve to lose to the better team tonight
Gibbs killed us, really forced shots especially in 1st half, and missed a few wide open 3s … but he was due for abda game as was the team
Horrible shooting night and rebounding. GT’s 2-3 zone seemed unsolvable.
We’ll get em again soon.
Hail to Pitt!
Thompson III made a good defensive adjustment on our simple pick play that created so many easy hoops early in the second half. Dixon didn’t have an answer.
Gibbs did look tired. Looked like he had even less lift on his shot than usual and they were coming out very flat.
We don’t match up well at all against Monroe and Vaughn. If there was a game that required McGhee and Taylor on the floor at the same time, this was it. We know that’s not going to happen, though.
Obviously, Wright killed us. Blew right by the perimeter defense and took advantage of some poor switches on picks. Not a great defensive game at all from the backcourt.
Oh well. Some warts exposed. Back to practice and hopefully some better performances in the near future.
damn, i effin hate losing to g’town !
Gibbs was rushing his shots, even the open ones, in the second half. G’town totally got in his head. A few times, though, some fake pumps would have easily gotten him open shots, but again, they were blanketing him and he was rushing.
Wannamaker is a beast getting to the hoop. What this team really needs is for Dixon — and to some extent Wannamaker — to be more consistent from outside. Dixon’s jump shot just looks terrible. It’s never looked good, but the whole thing now just looks off. It’s making it too easy for defenses to focus on Gibbs.
Taylor’s foot work still has a long way to go.
Nevertheless, there was a chance to win this game if some shots fall, some bounces go their way
Oh, yeah, and the refs sucked. That one block on Brown should have been a charge, Wannamaker got his shoulder yanked down on one drive to the hoop, and there were several other really bad calls. McGee got away with one late in the game, but otherwise the calls were definitely not going our way.
