In what many are calling Pitt’s last, best chance for a wi– No. Sorry. Can’t do it. Tried to type it, but it wouldn’t happen.
Let’s see. Pitt is really slow offensively. Yep.
Ron Cook is feeling downright ghoulish, then sort of feels bad about it, but not really.
Actually, let me pause on Cook for a minute. He’s really all over the board with this one. Almost like he put all of his Pitt basketball hot takes into one quick column so he has time to use them as talking points on something like a radio show later. Weird.
After the ghoulie stuff of wanting to see if Pitt goes 0-18 and how much lower attendance goes, he then says he feels bad for the players and Stallings. Typical strawman, he claims the fans hated his hiring because he wasn’t a Miller boy. Then in the next sentence hedges that by referencing Stallings being a “washed-up, has-been from Vanderbilt” as a factor.
I really, really don’t get his final part where he essentially states he has no faith in AD Heather Lyke being able to make a good hire because…
Her predecessor as Pitt athletic director, Scott Barnes, had much greater ties to college basketball as a former chairman of the NCAA men’s tournament selection committee and was right to allow Dixon to leave for TCU because Dixon had grown stale at Pitt. And he gave us Stallings?
And Duquesene was a laughing stock of the coaching carousel all of Spring 2017 before somehow convincing Keith Dambrot to take the job. What does that have to do with anything you ask? Who knows, but let’s keep it confusing.
