Retro uni day for Pitt basketball. Honoring past greats from the 80s. All wonderful. All nostalgic. Pay no attention to that 5-13 record versus the Orange in the 80s.
If you really want to look for the upside to Kevin Stallings as the head coach, it is his honesty. He admitted to (non-specifically) some big mistakes on his part in the second half collapse against NC State. And that as much as he believes the players bounced back in practice to the tough loss, no one really knows until the tip-off time.
Have those beverages ready and hope that the retro look is more of the zone-busting days of 3 years ago.
I don’t comprehend why people direct so much animosity towards Heather. She hasn’t been on the job a year and was hired too late to make any moves on the basketball side of the house. She has Ohio State pedigree and D1 AD experience and has done a good job generating buzz for the non-revenue sports … and announced one of the best ideas I’ve heard from a Pitt AD in who knows how long with the Pitt HOF project. She had nothing to do with the football team having a down year nor the current state of the basketball team. Both were inherited. She rightfully locked up Duzz for a few more years and has been remarkably silent on the basketball front … which I’m guessing is foreshadowing a departure … no need to kick someone while their down.
