When this posts, I expect to be a couple drinks into the opening tailgate of the season.
I will have left the house before the rest of my family even stirred and started driving straight into that new sunrise. The drive can be a pain, but that first one — before a game has been played. When the season is completely open to any possibility. That’s the favorite. I can imagine the best case scenarios — and the worst — without reservations.
That first drive in for the season. When the nostalgia hits hardest and happiest. Especially as I get closer to the city. It’s been well over 20 years since I moved away from Pittsburgh, but as I start hitting the city streets, it feels like I’ve only been gone a few days.
It’s good to be back.
Onto the game.
And thats what I’ll be going through flying up for the Penn State game and then driving from the airport through the tunnel next weekend.
Oh….and I hate Ped St.
It’s good to see you all again. I hope to make myself a regular around here again.
Pitt 420 – Nova 10
Pitt overall bad
Of course you need to get him back into football shape but I’d like to see Hall and Moss too. Especially Hall.
Has Aaron Matthews seen the field yet?
Pitt entered a 26.5 point favorite–probably make that or better.
The students showed up though
1) JC
2) NOTHING ELSE
Peterman looks average at best. Below expectations for the O line. Most rushing yards are after contact at line of scrimmage and too much QB preasure. D line looks terrible. And I do think want to hear plain vanilla game plan to keep things a secret from PSU. Out lines should be blowing these guys away and they’re not.
Anybody see this differently?
Other than that, agree with htp123.
What you would call a Lackluster performance.
We have problems on both lines.
These constant coaching changes kill you. This is a team that is set up on offense to line up under center and run the ball. Even if he is 100%, which I’m certain he is not, is James Conner comfortable or ideal running out of the shotgun?
Sigh. Not the start to the season I was hoping for. Hopefully this staff practices these kids like they are 0-1 this week and we see some real improvement next week. Otherwise I hate to say it guys, we’re not beating Pedo St next week
Let’s hope !
Defense looked good, offensively they were pretty conservative not showing much because of next weeks game.
It’s a better start than the last few years, move away from the edge Panther faithful, a W is in the books.
Caprara was good on D along with Whitehead, Price & Maddox. Wirginnis needs to play more.
Kicking game was weak at best.
Zeise, Hendrix….
They looked sluggish but that was to be expected. Narduzzi was not going to show much. His goal was to do enough to win. Mission accomplished.
Students were as energized as I have seen in a long time. They were lined up to get in at 11 when I was walking to 36. The student section was full and loud. On a holiday weekend no less!
Got a great feeling about the program. Hope to win next Saturday but even a loss will nor stop the momentum. HTP!
We need to improve next week or it’s a long season. Much improvement is need in week two.
Possible – yes!
HTP!
Next week will tell us if they phoned it in today.
Just didn’t look very sharp.
Amazing stuff.
Prediction coming.
We will not be favored next week.
If we lose Henderson, it is a big concern.
Bottomline guys, we are not that good.
As always – I love my Panthers!
H2P!!
I hoped they dumbed things down as to not show much for next week.
Would not act that way if he was as concerned as many fans were about today’s performance.
His OL he built here looks like crap too.
