Still basketball season, people. I know the new football schedule came out for the ACC yesterday. And seeing that Clemson game on there is a bit of a sight. But, this is basketball.
7pm. The assorted RSNs — Root Sports Pittsburgh, NESN, Fox Sports South and plenty of others.
Clemson has been very good at their sort-of-home arena this year.
Littlejohn Coliseum, their on-campus arena, is undergoing a $63.5 million renovation and won’t be available until next season. Instead. Clemson is playing its home games 50 minutes from campus in Greenville, S.C., at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
…
Clemson has earned the attention of every other team in the ACC with three home wins against ranked opponents — Louisville, Duke and Miami. Brownell said that was a case of a good team getting on a roll and playing consistently well for a couple of weeks in a row.
They’ve been off a week, but this is a good Clemson team. They play a sound, fundamental game. This was supposed to be a down year for the Tigers, but Brad Brownell is a very good coach.
Clemson plays at a very slow tempo. They make teams work on the defensive end, and are very patient on offense. Clemson will look to take a good amount of 3s. Their starters take the bulk of the minutes, as they aren’t that deep. If Pitt can get them in some foul trouble it will create some more opportunities. That means the frontcourt needs to attack — wisely — rather than settle for too many jumpers.
Pitt should have Sheldon Jeter back. Hopefully Sterling Smith will keep his strong shooting going from Saturday.

The Kid has it ALL… and just a Sophomore.
However, my guess is that Franklin had Hamlin rooming with two (maybe three) girls last weekend.

–Jones runs well; his size and quickness looks promising;
–Gilbert reminds me of a junior version of James Harrison; built like a tank and great motor;
–Hargrove has nice size but I don’t see the quicks for defense – looks like a future OT or somebody like Soto if he stays on defense.
–Wheeler moves well, looks strong;
–Watts moves really well, looks promising;
–Getting Camp would be awesome – could see him playing right away.
—What I liked about all these DTs is that they move well enough to have a decent size tackle radius – I think this is a problem for Jarrett, he just can’t cover much ground unless he loses some weight and gets more mobile.
Go Pitt.
I’m getting tired of that excuse. Barnes needs to upgrade Dixon’s assistants and start getting some players to come here.
Narduzzi is recruiting very well IMO to a team that has no on campus stadium and has been bad to mediocre for 30 years…Dixon is officially out of excuses as to why he can’t bring in players to play in the ACC, to a team with a recent winning history, and plays in front of rabid fans (the Zoo) in a brand new facility.
And if the better recruiting assistants can’t sell Pitt/Dixon, then it’s time (in a couple years) to get rid of Dixon too. That will be proof that it’s Dixon, not Pitt that’s holding us back.
I wonder if he stopped by to say hi to the Pitt players?
