Little odd on the time, but it is a Friday night, so it should make it easier for fans to get to the Pete.
Detroit is from the Horizon League. Under Jamie Dixon, Pitt has never lost to a Horizon League team (10-0). I only note that, because when Dixon was still an assistant, he was a finalist for the Wright State job that went to Paul Biancardi (then, an Ohio State assistant).
Pitt and Detroit last faced, nearly 3 years ago. The Titans gave Pitt a scare for the first half, but Pitt got it back in the second and pulled away for a thirteen point win.
Detroit was picked to finish third in the Horizon League by the Sporting News, but they are without their best player, forward Paris Bass. He was suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules.
Still, Ray McCallum is a good coach who gets a lot out of his teams. This will not be as easy as we may want.
Someone else said Wilson will start at of by end of season…have u met Jamie Dixon? I don’t think so….even if he is the better player by then….
Overall nice to see then put the game away after going down by 1.
