Doing a little early morning numbers crunching I thought that this comparison between out last two starting QBs is interesting. it is almost mirror-like save the team’s overall record. Note that Peterman has actually played 1.5 games less at this point because of the substitutions of QBs the first two games.
QB | Comp/Atts/Yds | YPA/YPC | Comp% | TDs/INTs | QBR | Team’s Record |
Peterman | 145-232-1776 | 7.7 / 12.2 | 62.5 | 14/4 | 143.3 | 7-3 |
Voytik | 136-220-1688 | 7.7 / 12.4 | 61.8 | 12/6 | 138.1 | 4-6 |
7-3…..8-4?…..9-3? very nice bowl in our future. no trips
to Detroit or Birmingam!
The D line shut down their run game for the most part, impressive when subbing was restricted due to Duke’s hurry up O. Lucky that their first time starting QB made some mistakes. All in all, it was a very good win.
Proud of this team, Hail to Pitt.
Was I hearing a large contingent of Pitt fans chanting “Let’s Go Pitt”? Or was it “Duke”? It sounded like “Pitt” and it was loud.
H2P
“Qadree Ollison led the way with 111 yards and one touchdown, a game-sealing 1-yard score early in the fourth.”
But who knew?
Need to give some thought to Louisville. At this point, have to say that I’m a bit more optimistic about the Cardinals than Miami.
But again, we shall see.
But that is THIS week!
Here is the team’s roster:
lets see script, a real coach, and mustard/blue we will
have exorcised the Pederson from our lives
I thought our O-line was one of the few bright spots in the ND game, and they were really strong yesterday, outside of Atrie’s struggles. That’s a good sign for the end of this year and next year as well.
It is also great to see Caprara improving and being recognized for his play. That kid is impressive.
Pitt had almost 40 minutes of possession. The recipe for success for this team is no secret: run the ball and stop the run. Do that the next two weeks, and 9-3 will happen.
Here is info on next week:
PITT-LOUISVILLE TO KICK AT 3:45 P.M. AT HEINZ FIELD
PITTSBURGH — The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that Pitt’s November 21 home game against Louisville will kick off at 3:45 p.m. The contest will be televised by ESPNews.
The Panthers’ remaining 2015 regular-season schedule with announced television coverage and kickoff times:
Date Opponent (TV) Time
Nov. 21 Louisville* (ESPNews) 3:45 p.m.
Nov. 27 (Fri.) Miami* (ABC or ESPN) TBA
Peterman, Challingsworth, Boyd, Ford, Ollison, Whitehead, Holtz, and Blewitt on offense. Great throws, catches and runs.
Caprara, Steinbeck, and yes Pitts with the endzone breakup, many other big hits.
More big plays, by more guys in a game that I can remember in a long time.
First downs, US 26 – Them 18
Rushing Yards, US 268 – Them 113
Passing Yards US 180 – Them 248
We had a great running game and excellent redzone production. Three great passes and catches for TD’s.
I think Louisville will be a much tougher game than Miami. I think we beat Miami and Louisville is a ?
Does anyone know if North Carolina is looking at NCAA sanctions? I thought they had big time troubles with the NCAA.
I trust you will be happier this week than last week when your Monday column was a real downer. Let’s face it, we played really good teams two weeks in a row. Yes, we could have played better but the team and coaches didn’t deserve last week’s gloom and doom report, which really surprised me because it seemed uncharacteristic of you. Maybe you just had a bad day, but hopefully you will feel better this week.
Love the sound of that!
On the highlights video: Notice the Duke #6 on that fake FG try – he was facing the center and had his hands up to receive the snap the whole time – gave it away completely.
Nice to see Challingsworth get big PT – another Mike Shanahan.
