The last two years, Pitt and Duke have combined for some wild offensive games. Don’t think that will be what we see today. Duke has been doing more with the defense, and their starting QB may not play.
Pitt’s offense has been a bit up-and-down. Only two games saw the offense hit 30 points or more (vs. 1-A opponents). Two games have seen Pitt with under 20 points. Everything else has been somewhere in the 20s. Just not seeing Pitt explode for around 50 points.
It’s a nooner on ESPNews.
Both teams are 6-3, but Pitt is ahead of Duke in the Coastal standings with a 4-1 conference record to the Blue Devils’ 3-2.
Lol. All good. Yeah, I’m a year older, 39. I was reading it and was like wtf? Misunderstanding. Pap is 1st 3 letters of my long ass Italian last name and 76 for the year I was born. Just a coincidence last time Pitt was truly it…
Go Baylor Bears!!
Would love an OCS just like theirs!!
Go back to the last article I wrote and post something – that way I can get your email.
Missed on my prediction just by a skoach. Had Pitt winning 30-17!! Wish we had Miami next week after their shellacking today. Bama looks tough on the ground and defensively.
Brief pause for the frenchies and all that are suffering today. This activity will be commonplace unless we eradicate it now.
Regarding today, what a difference a head coach makes. This staff’s ability to make halftime adjustments is of the charts. I think our vulnerability this year is exposed when we play teams that have big time WRs. Last year’s House defense would’ve given up 30 pts to Duke in the second half alone.
Hail to Pitt
Thank God Pitt landed in the ACC. Can you imagine the crowds for a Pitt/Tulane clash in bad weather? I personally shudder at that thought.
There is enough money and ACC Coastal is a cushy landing spot, if Duzz is indeed the man, we can keep him and be in for some good times!!
Hail to Pitt!!!!
58 rushing attempts vs 23 pass attempts
T.Boyd and J.Whitehead as part of the run game
QO doing a better job of pass blocking
Huge time of possession advantage
D holding Duke to 3 points in the 2nd half
Now we shift the focus on to Louisville.
Crack the Cardinals!
Back to the game- kudos to the OL. It was their pass protection (and Challingsworth’s heroics) that allowed big plays to develop.
The Peterman TD pass to Challingsworth was not a good one. Against an above average CB, it’s an interception, but we don’t play woulda, coulda, shoulda on the Blather.
I also think that Artie really struggled today (again). I like where we are at as a team however. I didn’t watch the Louisville game, but I think we should be evenly matched against them. I don’t like Petrino! He just looks dirty.
Start preparing for Louisville tonight!
The Cardinals barely beat UVA today giving up 31 to the Hoos and scoring 38 to win.
In the Coastal title chase, UNC plays at VTech in HC Beamer’s final home game. The place should be a sellout and hopefully loud.
As a bonus, it was reported by one of the embedded blather reporter at the game, the Duke football stadium was only about half full. Half full stadiums shouldn’t scare young Gilbert. Come help us return to glory young man and help fill the seats.
Pitt has a more disciplined and patient team.
Louisville has more experience at the HC position.
Pitt will have the two most talented players on the field in T.Boyd and J.Whitehead.
Pitt is playing at home at Pitt Stadium on Heinz Field.
Louisville is playing for 2nd place in the Atlantic Division.
Pitt is still in the hunt for the Coastal title.
I give Pitt the slight edge at home.
Pitt wins 35-31 in front of 50k loud and proud fans. The mid-field logo continues with slight improvements. The ACC refs are confused on which team they’d like to see win. They settle on Louisville and get booed relentlessly all game long.
HTP!
Focus on beating Louisville and we may see the top 25 again. It doesn’t matter though until the Coastal Division title is settled.
Crush the Cards!
It was a fine pass Peterman made while rolling out and he put it high enough so the taller Challingsworth could use his arms to make a good catch. That pass hit a 2′ diameter window thrown 28 yards in the air… gimme a break. Take a look at the 35s mark on in the video
Western Illinois stunning Wisconsin.
UCLA drops overtime game at home to Monmouth.
NC State falls by 17 (!) points at home to William & Mary.
North Florida goes on the road and scores 93 points against Illinois.
Georgia, another victim of a home OT loss, couldn’t beat Chattanooga.
Belmont plays Marquette wire to wire, wins an entertaining opener.
