It’s Tuesday and we have to get off our collective asses and figure out where we are going to meet so we can put faces to internet handles/names…. and for you guys to buy me many drinks.

Pros: Is a nice smaller bar and the prices are reasonable.
Cons: Is a bit of a walk to the stadium, small interior and maybe veru crowded as there are parking lots right in front of it.
Bettis’ Bar and Grill
Or have a tailgate.
If someone already has an established tailgate spot that they use they it would be appreciated if we could meet there and we’ll chip in $$$ or bring a bottle to share.

but and will come down as early as people want to meet… bearing in mind I’m driving 4 hours to get to PGH.
Let’s put our heads together and come up with a place to meet. I’m going with Bettis’ as it has that big outside area and is closest to the stadium… unless some has a tailgate spot. By the way, I’m a big guy – 6’6” with longer brown hair and an earring in the left ear. Here’s a mug shot (Note for all you military types: the photo cuts out the last four rows of the ribbons. That’s what 33 years gets you!):

Get your choices in early and often as they say in Chicago… we need to finalize some plans.
1) Tilted Kilt Bar – remember the the Seinfeld episode where Elaine got pissed when all of the waitresses in a diner had big breasts, and she thought it was a pre-requisite? (Turned out they were sisters at the family diner) Anyway, this is my memory of the Tilted Kilt waitresses .. and they are not modest about it.
2) Bettis Bar — for those not familiar, you can take a squirt and look out at the bar while at the urinal … very unique
3) Clarke Bar — agree with the notes, bar is small; however since it is a farther walk and it’s YSU, it may not be so crowded.
Something to be said by being at the closest local nearest the Stadium… no matter how crowded or how many Penguins wobbling around.

The PG! What is going on? Dogs and cats, living together, mass hysteria! Well I’m sure there was some mass hysteria in Micco’s mind when he read this one.
Also – someone mentioned a Facebook page. Chas is willing to give the OK if I (meaning my daughter) builds and maintains it.
Anyone interested… ?? That way we could chat or share crap via a series of tubes… not a big truck.
Wish I could get out there for a weekend before the season is over.
With the Coaching/Athletic Dept’s new fire, Heinz field may not be half bad. That is, if the team wins.

We play Barnes’ hometown teams early in the season, Eastern Washington (they will always be the “SAVAGES” in my mind) and Gonzaga.
Reed, any additional “stuff” would be great (Facebook) provided I learn how to use it.
Milligan had the 2.5 grade-point average required by the NCAA for a junior college player to transfer to a four-year school, FGCU Director of Compliance Alex Masse confirmed. Junior college transfers also much have a high school or Associate of Arts degree. Milligan also was good there.
The current eligibility GPA for Division I athletes not transferring from a junior college is 2.0, but that will move to 2.3 next year.
But Milligan didn’t have enough credits that FGCU would accept from Kilgore College. Pitt apparently accepted more of those.
“That’s basically it,” Masse said. “Each institution in the country determines what’s transferable. That’s not the athletics department. That’s the institution, either the Registrar or (Dept. of) Admissions. And in our case with athletics, Admissions.”
Third-year FGCU coach Joe Dooley also declined to comment on specifics, but was happy to talk about Milligan’s second chance.
“This is good timing for him, and I hope for Jonathan’s sake he has a good experience and a good career,” Dooley said. “And I’m a big Jamie Dixon (Pitt coach) fan, and I hope it works out for both of them.”

If Scott Barnes and Jamie Dixon get an iffy BB player into Pitt, imagine the “transfer” players that the combo of Tressel and Pelini have gotten into YSU… That’s what worries me about this game.

Kilgore JC was known for the Kilgore Rangerettes who used to perform their high kicking routines at the Cotton Bowl at half time.
Kilgore,TX. is in the heart of the great East Texas oilfield. Maybe, Milligan took oil field related classes. Sincs Florida doesn’t have much oil prodution & Pennsylvania seems to be an up & comer in oil/nat gas, its logical to me that FGCU wouldn’t accept those courses while PITT does.

I give that advice to every young kid I meet – military or not. Get involved, ,get out of your comfort zone and have fun!
