The ACC announced its all-ACC Preseason team. Only Safety Jason Hendricks made the team from Pitt. Florida State led the conference with six players.
The ACC doesn’t have multiple all-ACC squads. Instead they list the top-4 vote getters for each position — along with their total number of votes. Defensive Tackle Aaron Donald just missed making the All-ACC. Only one other Pitt player made the top-4, and it was not WR Devin Street. Punter Matt Yoklic finished third.
It’s not terribly surprising that Pitt didn’t place many players. Aside from the obvious questions of talent, the ACC media as a whole is not exactly familiar with Pitt (or Syracuse which didn’t place a player).
yet, Donald didn’t get in with 32 votes.
Actually, I’m surprised Hendrick made the cut.
Right now, Hendricks looks to be Pitt’s best NFL-bound player. Has ideal size and speed for his position… and due to his ball-hawking ability, would expect him to go high… somewhere between the second and fourth rounds.
All this probably played into Hendricks getting the nod from the ACC press which has yet to its first does of Pitt Football.
But frr those of us well familiar with this particular Pitt football team… it is pretty obvious that, when he is on his game… Aaron Donald is Pitt’s best player.
Now we just need to create the “attention” on the field.
Donald got more votes than Hendrick.
Perhaps not as many top notch safeties in ACC.
Is he a Chryst recruit?
Banks, Bisnowaty, Boyd, Connor, Orndoff
Did they commit in spite of Coach Chryst?
