Quick! Which division is Pitt in? Atlantic? Coastal? Coastal? Atlantic? Bzzzzp! Time’s up.
The correct answer is… (flips to preview guide) Coastal. Yes, of course. Coastal. Knew it all the time. Just like I already know who is in what division without question.
Okay, it’s going to take a while. But if I can learn to type Krzyzewski without double-checking I can master this.
Okay, the ACC media made their picks for the Atlantic and Coastal Divisions.
Pitt was placed in a solid fifth in the Coastal Division.

Looks like the media is rather convinced on who will be the top-4 of the Coastal. Just not the order. The Atlantic is a little more clearcut for who are the best teams.
After years of following Big East media days, the biggest shock to me is seeing that there were some 120 media votes for football. Even in the Big East basketball side with 16 teams, I doubt there were 120 media voters.
Guess Pitt has some extra motivation with the whole, “no body believes in us” storyline.
Gus Ferrotte moving back to Pittsburgh.
I didn’t know he was a Ford City grad.
His sons are going to Central Catholic.
Gus wants to get into college coaching… hint, hint.
Tough legacy to overcome.
BTW
Ryan Braun is a lying sack of cow dung. Caught and now, when it no longer matters, admits it.
I’ll say Pitt beats two teams picked to finish ahead of them this year and goes 4-4 in the ACC, based on nothing more than daisy-fresh pre-season optimism. Nobody does mediocrity better!
I see a 5 wins and 7 loss season coming. Which is actually optimistic imo since the last 2 years we were 6-6 (only 1 game difference) and the ACC is better than the BigEast. And last’s years 6-6 was achieved with the weakest Pitt schedule EVER, which is why you know who passing stats were more than ajar for someone of his caliber.
But games against two D2 teams, Temple, USF, Uconn, Rutgers, Cuse and a non-typical Beamer squad will tend to skew things. Just a tad. lol
Wins this year: New Mexico, Old Dominion, Duke, Cuse & UVA
Losses: The Rest
2 of the following 3 could also be losses; Duke, Cuse or UVA.
So 5 & 7 is optimistic !
VeV !
That is why they play the games, and the games can’t begin soon enough for my liking.
