So don’t get too used to almost an entire season of non-weekday games (when there isn’t a holiday weekend), but this is a sweet start to Pitt in the ACC.
“Given the incredible job Nick Saban has done recruiting for Alabama we probably also should just go ahead and assume that his latest target, linebacker/running back Dylan Moses, is going to be a star.
Just not for a pretty long time, considering Moses is in middle school.
Moses is an eighth grader from Baton Rouge (La.). AL.com reported that Alabama offered the scholarship over the weekend, at the Crimson Tide’s Junior Day event. Even though that sounds crazy to make scholarship promises to an eighth grader, Moses already has an offer from LSU as well.”
I almost feel like there should be an age restriction on offers. These kids have a hard enough time when they’re 17/18. Having kids verbal when they’re 13/14? They have enough to worry about with the whole ‘becoming an adult’ thing.
Just wanted to let you know I am not senile…yet!
Pitt v. FSU, Pitt leads series 5-3.
1971 L 13-31 Away
1972 L 7-19 Home
1974 W 9-6 Away
1978 W 7-3 Home
1980 L 22-36 Away
1981 W 42-14 Home
1982 W 37-17 Away Monsoon game.
1983 W 17-16 Home
Have won 3 in a row against them to go along with 4 in a row against Va. Tech going into ACC!!
**Game that broke our possible NC was 1980**
**We actually WON the “monsoon” game two years later. They still affectionately call it the “monsoon” game in Tallahasse.
Some other button I should be hitting instead of the space bar???
Anyhow, sorry they’re all so compacted.
House is a big concern. He’s already quoted as saying that unlike his predecessor you won’t find him spending nights sleeping at the office. Huxtable was known to make a practice of pulling all-nighters prior to games.
House says the successful coaches he knows are able to balance home life with work. Not one game under his belt and he’s already the expert on what the job of DC entails.
Big gamble by Chryst to select House while he himself is still trying to get the job of HC down. This year’s schedule certainly doesn’t improve the odds of success.
Had to run downtown. At Rt.51 and Rt.88, there is an electronic billboard.
A very nice one. Very coloroful, graphics excellent.
It has several advertisements, that change back and forth.
I was looking at it, and to my suprise, a large Pitt helmet facing a Florida St helmet, with the stadium and some other things in the background.
Said something to the effect of “Labor Day”, “be there”!!!
Light turned green, so I couldn’t get a good study on it, but I can say, someone down at Pitt is on the ball!!!!!!!!!
Excellent Pitt Ath. Office, Excellent!!!!
The schedule announcement has resulted in too many people buying tickets online and now I’m having trouble electronically renewing! Don’t people have something better to do! 🙂
Did not drink at the Navy game but drank into oblivion at the 42-14 game.
Nice interview and insights… I do like his demeanor and approach! I hope is real on game day.
also can tell Savage is the man…

One thing about the 1980 loss. Howard Cosell issued an editorial (or whatever) after watching the game, lambasting the southern referees for their bias. To my knowledge, Cosell ahd no alliance to Pitt .. but it may be why the NY Times voted Pitt as the No. 1 team in its final rankings.
