Actually, “nicely” is understating it. The schedule the ACC put out there for Pitt is outstanding.
2013 ACC Home Opponents
Florida State
Miami
North Carolina
Virginia
2013 ACC Away Opponents
Duke
Georgia Tech
Syracuse
Virginia Tech
Couple that with home non-con games that include New Mexico and Notre Dame, and Pitt has a schedule that includes two top-10 teams from this season. Not to mention Miami and even UNC. I have no idea what to expect from Virginia.
The response on twitter and the ticket office have been overwhelmingly positive. Players, fans, alumni everyone is excited.
#Pitt fans, we hear you! You’ve bought 1,000 tickets in the 90 minutes since the #PittACC schedule was released! #HailToPitt!

Fired up for the 2013 #Pitt football season! Great home slate, sweet away trips and a lot of talent returning. Going to be fun #HailtoPitt

Pitt even got a quick mention for being one of the big schedule winners from the ACC.
WINNER:Pittsburgh gets perhaps the most attractive home schedule in the league with Miami, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida State all coming to Heinz Field. Notre Dame also visits in 2013. Quite a welcome to the league for the Panthers.
Even if they are all noon games, there are no excuses not to show up this year.
Whoops. The non-con might be nooners, but not the ACC ones.
Interesting note from Pederson: ACC early games start at 12:30 p.m., so no more noon kickoffs at Heinz Field.

Further whoop. Turns out 12:30 only applies to ACC Game of the Week. Not games ESPN shows. Nooners will still happen in the ACC.
I think the new schedule will have very positive results in the box office. Go Panthers!
Although with that schedule, hell, I have to be there.
Pardon me for still having a bad taste in my mouth from last season but this team better find some fire in them or else it’s going to be the same old calamity come season’s end. I’m sick and tired of having to go to bars at 9am on Saturdays to watch Pitt on ESPN-Ocho getting rolled by 21 pts in the first quarter.
An improved schedule is nice, but what would be even nicer is for this program and team to start showing the country that the Pitt name still means something. We have WAY too much history and talent to be lapped by former dilapidated programs who find themselves back in the limelight. Seeing programs like Stanford be resurrected from the ashes while we are perpetually bottom feeding is downright embarrassing. Stanford even had Walt Harris for 2 seasons. Thanks like giving us a head start!
So, ‘yay’ to the new schedule but let’s do something with it.
HTscriptP
Stevie is probably thinking of ways to fudge the attendance numbers already with this delicious schedule.
ABS (Anybody But Steve)
Great ACC schedule too!! HTP
this is a GREAT schedule. so much better then the big least’s schedule every year.
I’m pumped for football and can’t wait to see Basketball.
Awesome!
I sincerely hope that the team realizes the work ahead of them if they don’t want to be down right embarrassed by the results next season. I’ll be there in any case. H2P!
the best part is we will win 3 of thoes home games.
The added bonus… ACC away games in Southern locals.
A good reason for Pittsters to start becoming good travelers.
Now the program and the athletic department needs to step up to the plate. I want to compete for our division every year. Right on Nuke, I’m sick of programs with no tradition improving over night while we are stagnant. I want some glory and pride back in Pitt football. And if they don’t find a way to return to the script now, they never will. C’mon, just do it already!

“Well, at least we’ll be shitting the bed attractively next year! Progress is progress.”
Okay, I concur. Better yet, though, let’s do it in style (“sh*tting the bed”): Suggestion: In Pitt Script
**If Pederson overlooks the pertinence of the defining (now throw-back) unis in this league-change, then I also change my mind and believe his replacement necessary.
(I was never too critical of Pederson, but if I see that ridiculously strange disembodied panther show up Sept 2013, I have a problem to address.)
A marketing coup would be to roll out the old colors and Script! freak’n tired of looking like half the other teams out there… would be smart on many fronts…
since the days of being an independent. Plus home and home BB games rather than a schedule designed by ESPN.
Better days are coming!
