The decision is set for 2:30 this afternoon. Right at the end of school, just before winter break begins. That’s good planning.
The choice will be Pitt or Alabama.
The recruiting experts seem to think the lean is to Pitt.
I’m just hoping he doesn’t do the whole hat thing. Just about every variation of that has been played out. I’d rather just see him rip open his shirt and show a Pitt jersey underneath. But, that’s just me.
I know some people are turned off by the whole announcement thing. I don’t have a problem with it. These kids are pursued to ridiculous ends. Filled with such levels of crap about how much teams and coaches need them, want them, how they are the piece they need.
It all ends once they sign their NLI and scholarship papers. They lose all leverage. All their choices, all their control is out the window. They belong to the school and coach after that.
Let them have a little bit of fun and extra attention.
UPDATE: As everyone probably knows, Robert Foster picked Alabama. Ah, well. Guess we can at least hope that Saban gets lured to the Browns.
As good people said above, once Chryst starts building something in 1-2 yrs this will change…
Hey, here is one wishful thinking scenario…
… now we get Boyd because he will be the star and doesn’t have to compete against Foster…
… then Sabin leaves for an NFL offer in the off season and Foster changes his mind back to Pitt…
lol…
… OK, it’s Christmas so one can hope…
Hey, Pitt is getting the type of recruits it needs to become a nationally relevant program again (linemen, loaded with QB and RB prospects) and look at the strategy with the redshirts this year…
Pitt should compete well in its first year in the ACC, be relevant at the top of the league and go to a good mid/top tier bowl next year.
This year really didn’t count and how many years does a good coach needs to turn around a troubled program??
BTW, academic help means that some girl will be doing Foster’s homework and taking his tests. Also he’ll be getting a free convertible to drive to his classes.
he did not come to pitt was he did not want to be the man.
he just wanted to be another recruit and bama has so many good players he will get his wish.
new pitt offers i think not sure if i posted these before.
WR CORY COOPER 6 FOOT 190 POUNDS NC
WR MALIQUE BELFORT NY 6 FOOT 4 170 POUNDS.
The other 4-5 star Pitt lean for walt that went elsewhere, was A Morelli. Another mistake. He left a solid qb coach and went to qb hell at State Penn.
With regard to Foster, he is obviously still conflicted as evidenced in the video. I am convinced that he put himself in a bind with an announcement date and was forced to choose before he got the facts straight.I think that Pitt may get some reverse mojo back from the two metioned above come LOI day.
If he is intent on doing things for his high school, he should have stayed local, where his student body could support him! If it was about academics, he can’t do much better than Pitt. Remember, Pitt is in the top 100 universities in the WORLD!!! Alabama does not enjoy such academic stature. I think once the dust settles, we still have a shot at him.
AS for Boyd, same thing. These kids are good enough to go anywhere, but when you need to manufacture reasons as to why you need to go, it is clear that you have been sold. Some kids like to get away from family and friends and thrive in that scenario. But for those that need support, you need to stay. I am happy with both, with either, or with none. I want kids in the program that want to be here and I think PC is nurturing that mentality. I would encourage PC to adopt the DW approach on these things. If you give me your word and break it, you can’t come back. Northerners are never accepted into the southern circle. They are still fighting the war, believe it or not. For anyone that has gone through that, you have to agree. It’s an impossible fit. I wish him well.
I bet I could beat you in the game of Clue, lol
And I could checkmate in you in 6 moves or less in Chess.
Now go back to the wvcc or nitter blog and be a big man.
However on Alabama.com, it’s warranted almost as many comments as the NRA’s stmt today.
That’s saying something.
Hail to Pitt !
Veritas et Virtus !
Death to all Trolls !
For some/most area hs kids it behooves them to go to Pitt, it’s the natural order of things.
When you screw with the natural order of things, like Johnson & Morelli did, it generally doesn’t turn out good for all those involved.
Pitt & Pittsburgh……Someplace Special !!
The World did not end.
Frickin Mayans, Jokesters. 🙂
The fact that a speial talent like Robert Foster had his choice down to Alabama and Pitt is testimony to Chryst and his assistants doing something right.
It didn’t have to be Pitt. Ohio State would have been just as suitable for a hometown choice option. And despite anything you might hear don’t think for a second that Urban Meyer would not have been glad to be in that position.
As I stated, months and months ago, long before the season began… Foster should have never been looked at as a “must have” by the Pitt staff. He was always a REACH given his obvious talent.
But, given the unexpected trials and tribulations of the first year of the Chryst tenure at Pitt, the mere fact that Foster looks to be seriously torn in his decision… can not be looked at as anything else but a positive sign for the Pitt recruiting successes yet to come.
Now, the responsibility falls squarely on the shoulder of Chryst and his staff. It’s up to them to simply start deliving delivering the kind of wins I and other ardent supporters believe possible.
At that point, in the new Mayan era… we can celebrate in the next Robert Foster choosing Pitt and in doing so see him shedding tears of joys rather than sadness.
I can’t think of a better place than Northern Ohio to play a liesurely 18, especially in November through March.
Saben to San Diego where Norv Turner will soon be given the back door makes more sense.
Saban’s leaving Bama is certainly not a sure thing by any means, but what part of Saban’s past suggests that he will stay as a long term coach anywhere?
Apparently, God is not a Pitt fan … as if we already didn’t know that.
But with Revis and Fitzgerald hopefully getting into the NFL Hall of Fame, Pitt has more than its share of great athletes.
You were trying to take a shot at Pitt only having 35K fans at games. Yep, can’t argue that.
The ” ” use however, questions the actual fans.
That would be totally wrong.
Pitt fans are as rabid and loyal as any other fans in the country, including Alabama, LSU, Texas.
No, we don’t have as many, not nearly as many.
There are however, Pitt die hards, that bleed blue and gold every bit as much as LSU fans bleed purple and gold.
Nope, don’t have 95K on a Saturday night, but the 20-30K die hards that are there for every game take a back seat to no one.
Now, before you jump back at me.
READ what I am saying. No, we don’t have good attendance, that is not an argument, agreed.
I’m talking about the people, that are Pitt fans, whether it be 5K or 20K, are into college football just as much as anyone else around the country.
Hence, your ” ” around fans, was misused.
i’m quite familiar w/ pitt fans. i’ve been going to pitt games for 35+ years, am a panther club member and have had my season tix for 15 years(i’m 42). my seats are on the 40 yd line in the lower bowl. at least twice a season some old fuck yinzer tells me to sit down when i stand up to cheer the defense on a critical 3rd down. those are the “fans” i’m referring to.
@emel, you’re a loud mouth jerk. btw, disagreeing with you doesn’t automatically make me a less intelligent troll.
The world didn’t end.
Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick.
Where is Jason Gwaltney now?

Hope he cuts his hair.

Sorry guys, gotta give Scott a shout out when he exposes an issue that is legitimate IMO.
thanks.

Somehow this doesn’t sound like a Pitt fan that claims to have gone to games for 35+ years.
We don’t play MAC teams that often. And we haven’t entered the ACC as of yet.
I’m not a yinzer, but I’d tell ya to sit ur ass down as well. Just because !
I’m really tired about this SEC non-sense. Yes they have good players, just like every other conference. If they’re so great why did Syracuse beat Missouri at Mizzou and Rutgers beat Arkansas at Ark ?
I seem to remember Pitt doing pretty well against SEC teams when we played them in Bowl Games.
1976 Sugar Bowl PITT 27 Georgia (SEC champion) 3
1980 Gator Bowl PITT 37 South Carolina 9
1981 Sugar Bowl PITT 27 Georgia (SEC Champs) 20
1989 Sun Bowl PITT 31 Texas A&M 28
2010 Compass Bowl PITT 27 Kentucky 10
F*ck the SEC !
my grandfather was a golden panther, my dad played baseball at pitt for bobby lewis, was team captain in 1962. i’ll put my pitt fan creds up against anyone.
final point: your opinion is your opinion, nothing more and nothng less. and certainly not more informed or credible than mine or dozens of others who comment on this blog. so drop the holier than thou attitude. kudos to foster for wanting to get as far away from asshole losers like you.
but we need a WR this year at least one more
And we need a rb to replace clement .
and of course we need some more big ol men
and dl men.
you know there is more deph at wr then at rb
we really need that rb.
we only have 4 rb next year.
