Ah, Bates Street. Home to 3 am staggers, stumbles and vomit. That stretch of impoverished student housing and road conditions that necessitated avoidance if at all possible. Perpetually under some form of rebuilding that never seems to finish
What’s that? The City of Pittsburgh did what to it?
(H/T to @Sta7ic)
Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
You bastards! You cleaned it up! What about tradition! What about history!
Don’t do it.
But change is inevitable.
BTW, Pitt will replace UNC as the oldest school in the ACC. Handy trivia.
Any idea who the oldest school with a D1 football or basketball program is?
Also, Bates has been at least half blocked off for upwards of a year, it’s about damn time that they got this done. I think it only took 3 water main breaks to do it.
I apologize to all offended Cavaliers
PITT!!!!!!
Said it was so his family could watch him play, mom, bro and sis live nearby.
Good weekend for Pitt at the HOF. Chryst had better play this hand. Shows Pitt has tradition and has quality players historically as well as men of good character. The Pitt legacy is strong.
By the way, what did they do to Bates? The picture looks like they just paved it and fixed the sidewalks. If so, who cares? Any new pavement will be soaked in beer and vomit by the first week of September.
Across the street from Carlow on Fifth is a brand new partment complex…
Look for bennie the torch to work some magic in Oakland next summer when the students are gone. I just hope no one gets hurt but nothing like a fire of suspect origins to “ignite” some redevelopment.
