Taking a break from the Penn State scandal, and pausing before jumping into the scandal at another school that everyone is ignoring. Some little things on the football front.
First off, it appears that there will be an additional scholarship available for this year as redshirt freshman Justin Jackson has left the team. Good luck to Mr. Jackson, we hardly knew you.
There are position changes to report. Some are not surprising, some are.
Anthony Gonzalez may have already broken the Dorin Dickerson position switch record. He’s been at QB, TE/HB and this spring WR. Now he’s moving to Safety. He’s big and athletic enough for the position. Just hoping he has a spot that lasts beyond a semester.
EJ Banks, the transfer from ND who was originally a cornerback, but moved to quarterback and then running back (just in the spring practices). My money was on linebacker, but he zagged when I thought a zig and he is moving back to cornerback.
Brandon Sacco has his grades in order, but not his position. He’s changing sides of the ball. Moving from Center to Defensive Tackle.
The freshmen have gotten their uniform numbers. Key players:
Rushel Shell – 4
Chad Voytik – 16
JP Holtz – 86
Adam Bisnowaty – 69
Deaysean Rippy – 17
There are the sundry shift in numbers the players wear.
No depth on DL good move for sacco and team he was to small for OL any way at 255 pounds.
+
Sweet.
As for Shell, glad he didn’t choose #1, or maybe someone else has it?? Never liked a player taking the #1 in college, or pros for that matter.

Love it coach ditka.
Dan, I’m not sure on the camera angle in NCAA ’12. For as long as I’ve played, I’ve always used the conventional “behind the offense” angle. I no longer have my copy of NCAA ’12, but I’ll see if that can be changed on ’13.
As far as NCAA ’13 goes, I just got into it a little last night and only played out a couple of exhibition games to get a feel of the new gameplay. From what I’ve seen, most of the changes are subtle but good.
The game “looks” better. The new animations stand out quite a bit. Player models look better and more realistic (particularly linemen, who are no longer just big…some are fat, Ted Washington-style). Heinz Field looks better in this year’s version and the uniforms look great. I’m still waiting to check out a bunch of other stadiums.
The gameplay seems to have improved. Running the ball is tougher in this year’s version. The noted improvements to the passing game and the pass defense are there, though not quite as pronounced as I think EA initially made them sound like they’d be. I’ll say this…the “super linebacker” problem that plagued the last couple of releases seems to be gone.
I haven’t jumped into Dynasty mode on this one yet but based on some of the reviews I’ve read, they’ve improved on it quite a bit.
I’d really be interested to know if they have the different camera angles.
Maybe we missed how to do it on 12 and it was there?
I’d get 13 at this point anyhow, so whatever you find out on 13 would be great.
