Well to be fair, most of his former offensive staff is already in place at Rutgers. Soooooo. I guess this wouldn’t be the most absurd possibility for the next Rutgers head coach (h/t to FeartheStache).

No way Wanny does this. He’s got way too much class and loyalty to his school. He may not have won the big ones for Pitt but he won’t betray them by coaching against them.

Listen, we should all wish Dave Wannstedt well.I do. He wasn’t as great as some think and he wasn’t as bad as others think. He was very good for Pitt when we needed him. My preference would have been for Peterson to go first, but he will soon get what’s due him. Did the Pitt women have one of the most embarrasing losses….ever, under his watch a couple of weeks ago?
I have plenty of arguments for his ouster, but I want to stay on point. I think it would be cool if he went to Rutgers. At least we would know we wouldn’t get blown out.

Coach W should and will do what’s best for himself and his family. Everyone can agree that he gave his heart and his best effort to Pitt while he was here and should never be criticized if he would accept a coaching position opposed to Pitt.

True story just saw Todd Graham at the Phoenix airport. He was going down the elscator and I was going up. Wouldnt have recognized him except for the Arizona State warmup. He saw me giving him the evil eye and kind of made a confused face and then he was out of sight. Truthfully my first instinct was to flip him the bird and i sort of felt like i’d missed a golden opportunity, but then I thought about it and realized that a) we have a better coach now and b) we kept all of our key recruits. And so now as the good book says, I’ve forgiven the man his transgressions. There is a higher power that will deal him his due.
Let the raid on Rutgers begin!

It’s also the position Pitt unfortunately occupied when they hired him, still occupied when they fired him, and still occupies now. Although there is a lot of hope in my mind at least that the reality will sooner rather than later match the presentation with PC in charge…
