Chris Dokish is reporting that Joe Rudolph will be joining Paul Chryst’s football staff.
That makes Bostad, Huxtable and Rudolph on the new staff and Wisconsin feels quite raided.
Rudolph is considered an excellent recruiter. Considering Chryst and Bostad do not have reputations for such skills, this is a big deal.
Rudolph’s position on the staff is not yet known. He coached the Tight Ends at Wisconsin, but had just been promoted to O-line coach.
The only conclusion I can draw from this is that everyone is more interested in demeaning my opinions that they think they disagree with (the problem of e-mail)then stating their own opinions.
I started blogging because I use to read the introduction section and enjoyed it. I never read the comments. Then two months ago my wife who travels alot was out of town for two weeks and I started and got addicted like you.
At sixity I have more time on my hands then I use to despite still working and playing basketball and tennis twice a week.
Of course my addiction as all addictions proved to be a major mistake. I had no idea that I would be opening myself up to personal ridicule from strangers for the opinions I wrote.
If only after I stopped after the ridicule began I would have demonstrated some character but like you I became addicted and completely lost my integrity.
What hurts is that those who found pleasure in attacking me and others are writing because of a common interests that has got preverted. Like jackels each blogger waits to bounce on the others and continue their juvenile addiction.
Regardless I am proud to say I a native Pittsburgher and despite the majority of the bloggers questionable integrity and ethical conduct I am still proud to have graduated from the univerity of my birthplace.
MIA once more
SO I CANT THROW STONES BOSSDAWS TOLD ME IT IS WHAT I SAY THAT COUNTS NOT HOW IT LOOKS SOMETHING LIKE THAT ANY WAY.
Pitt: Sources tell us Paul Chryst will likely hire Jim Hueber to coach the offensive line. Hueber most recently (in 2010) served as the assistant offensive line coach for the Vikings.
” From the outside, Badgers fans are wondering if this says anything about what kind of a head coach Bret Bielema is to work for, but it’s mostly an affirmation of the extreme loyalty and friendship Rudolph and Bostad feel for Chryst”
You can’t have a thin skin and survive in this formatt. While my writing skills are average, I do take the time to read what I right and make an effort to edit, correct typos etc. Particularly since my typing skills are worse than poor.
While I love Frankans posts and enthusiasm, for the lomgest time I thought he was nine years old.
While there are many highly articulate wordsmiths on this site, many would fail English 101.
Most of us on the site are here because we love Pitt Sports and want them to thrive. However there are some that seem to thrive on the misery of being a long suffering Pitt Fan.
In any case Hail to Pitt, beat them Mustangs.
HAIL TO PITT!
The more I read about this Chryst fellow, and the more I saw on the Rose Bowl (Yes, the Badgers but it was a good game.), the more I’m excited.
If he brings in a TRUE ‘high-octane’ offense, we’ll be fine. and what do I mean by that? I mean personality-wise. If he shows the committments and the currents that he’s willing to go out that extra yard for that proverbial first down with them, then I’m all for it.
Hail to Pitt!
Hail to the ACC! (i’m trying to get on the rednecks good side 😛 )
Whether you like my opinion or not, at least I try to provide some factual justification … the one exception is that I, like DRW, recognized ‘the snake-charmer’ from the get-go .. based on I guess a gut feeling and our experience with such phonies.
Hueber seems to be similar to Tony Wise, an NFL OL Coach veteran. Wise really produced some good OL but the downside is that he wasn’t that much of a recruiter. Hope ueber proves to be better but Bostad’s reputation should be a big plus here.
Now in regards to any of those perverted addictions that you mention in your post, well I’m just not going there my friend, I’ve already have enough of my own issues that I have to deal with on my own, but good luck with that.
But let me offer, if would make you feel any better about being ridiculed by “strangers” for your opinions, I’d enjoy the the opportunity to meet up with you for some tailgating libations before some Pitt football game next season so we could have the chance to get to know each other as mutual Pitt alumni and avid Panther fans.
Now of course, if that happens, I have absolutely no idea if my assessments of your opinions will be positively impacted by developing such a relationship.
However, at least, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that future ridicule sent your way by me will be coming from a fellow Pitt fanatic that you’ve tipped a few beers with anyhow.
Do you feel better now?
but i think i should just proof read but i dont which is my fult.
Not only does it look like we will be keeping our existing commitments, but I expect the new staff to go hard after some additional recruits that were nowhere on our radar. I can’t wait to see how the class shapes up. Bring on spring ball! … And thank goodness for Pittblather. Our coach nd the rest of his staff will be going to work very soon!
May I suggest that you may have some sort of “issues”??
Seriously, you don’t “stumble” upon a blog from Dec. 22nd. You had to have gone looking for it. Have had it on your mind??
I took the bait, and looked it up.
I do remember it, it is the one where you came on here and basically said,
“I knew Todd Graham was a fraud all along and you people didn’t”. “I never bought what you people were shoveling”.
“I was %100 right the whole time, and other than one or two others, we were the only ones who knew he was no good”.
Almost like a “na, na, na, na, na-na”.
I also remember myself, and a couple others offering an olive branch to you, and you never replied to me. At least not in a few days, I admit, after a couple days, I move on to the new posts. If you did respond, please let me know the post and date, I’ll be happy to check it out.
Now, weeks later, you come on bringing and old blog up, and questioning peoples “integrity”, “ethics”, “jackals”, “waitingto pounce”, “juvenille addiction”, “people finding pleasure in attacking me” etc. etc.
How dare you throw words like those around here, on a sports blog. You don’t know anyone on here personally to question anyones integrity.
There’s a word in psychology classes, for, when a person makes himself out to be the victim and looks for sympathy, yet, they are the ones that spew the hate and vitriol. Can’t think of it now, but there is one.
Sorry folks, offered an olive branch once, I got to call a spade a spade.
By the way, I freakin love all the hires!!!!
My own psychotic pleasure!!!!!
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!
“Honey……………….I’m home!”
LMAO!!!
Being electronically anonymous can really lead to a few spouting loud and rude. I’ve learned to skip them even if they have good info.
But always remember to ask yourself, am I posting with an agenda? Am I repeatingthecsame post over and over again? (Myers bandwagon?) post away, keep it civil and most others will respond likely.
I believe it’s true that what comes From the mouth comes from the heart. I think it’s true today that what comes from the keyboard comes from the heart.
Frankcan, wbb, rev. George, silver panther, reed, as well as many others are high quality people.
Go Pitt.
Once again, I personally, offer you an olive branch DRW, to move onto the next Pitt regime, and hope these Wisky’s can get us moving in the right direction!!
He may even like your Myers for his system????
Accept my olive branch Godfather?????
@DRW, I will start, sincerely………
what are your thoughts on the new coaches. I’m personally pretty happy. Almost like we “stole” something.
Maybe I’ll have buyers remorse, but, I’m pretty estatic over the coaches.
Maybe Myers will have a true shot with the new coaches. I’m sure they will start from the beginning.
You got Sunseri, Myers, Voytik, Jones, possibly Gonzo.
I’m wondering, has anyone heard if any qb’s are following their coaches here??? Or any possible recruits to Wisky, that may change their minds???
post that i spit ginger ale all over the key bord
whole post was well said but that line above is true. most of us care that is why some times things become become hot.
you have a way with words thank you for your post
Hail to Pitt!
Looks like the offensive staff is filling out nicely. So who fills out the rest of the defensive staff??
Let’s hope the kids take out their frustrations and open up a can of whoopass on the Mustangs.
I have no idea regarding the relative quality of any of these coaches. I am still optimistic after 30 years of average and below average football.
From dumb and dumber “so there’s still a chance”
Let’s hope these guys finish recruiting strong with some impact players.
By the way, does anyone else miss great New Year’s day football? So many bowl games and little quality or intensity. I wish they would come up with a tournament, or go back to the way it was. The Rose, Sugar, Orange and Cotton used to be a big deal. Other than the participants does anyone care?
Bowl games should be a reward for a great season. I saw one team was 6-7. No one should go to a bowl at 6-6.
And the championship is a replay.
Hey, maybe Jamie should have been there watching Holtz instead of Chryst (sorry, couldn’t pass it up)
A solid bowl win with the new head coach sitting in the stands evaluating his troops for the first time would set the proper tone going into the final surge before LOI signing day coming up in less than a month.
What I find truely amazing is how this current recruiting class has held together through all of this coaching change turmoil. With Chryst starting to show his hand regarding his thoughtful coaching staff selections, I’m beginning to feel confident that he may be able to pull in a couple additional uncommitted recruits for positions of need at the eleventh hour to fill out this class nicely.
Although I remain a critic of his turtle’s pace to get his house in order, the overall vibe to the Chryst hire, seems positive from all perspectives, and he hasn’t even asked the Pitt faithful to drink any stired up premixed Koolaide yet, which, by the way, I sincerely appreciate.
I’m beginning to understand the now the opinions of some reporting services that have commented on the low keyed personality of this guy. Since his hire, Chryst has almost been invisible concerning his actions in assenbling his staff and in the retention of the current recruiting class. However, he certainly seems to be producing favorable results, almost in a clandestine manner, in doing so. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
He may just be the type of guy who promises little but delivers more, which is always a welcomed surprise when the results are tallied.
Here’s hoping for a good showing in the Compass Bowl. Sure would enjoy Pitt bringing home a third straight bowl victory, even though it is in this second rate format. HTP!

new coaching staff looks great on paper. Excited for Pitt football 2012. HTP
that gives us 6 nice start
Kind of suprised at Rudolph being asst. head coach and qb’s coach. But he sure sounds like an up and comer with strong local ties. RAnd a heck of a recuiter. Really excited about him.
who is a great TE coach will now coach QBs.
Hueber who is a great OL coach as good as bostad
will now coach TEs.
Well, we have seen that in his tenure so far – nothing publicly from him but working behind the scenes to get guys he wants on staff. I really like these hires so far but I scratch my head a bit at Rudolph as a QB coach but that’s alright I think.
I think we are going to see some real solid recruiting seasons over the next few years because, in addition to how well they actually recruit, Chryst reached out and got two guys who have strong WPA ties.
RB and OL.
But like DR TOM i was more surprised with RUDOLPH
and the QB thing he has played OL and coached TE
As far as i know that is all no big deal.
Things look real good.
Hope it’s not invisible!!! LOL
