Just to provide a brief counterpoint to the story I posted yesterday about Wisconsin Linebackers Coach Dave Huxtable coming to Pitt when Paul Chryst takes the reigns. Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema has been vague about much in the change of coaches, including who. He did offer a hint.
A source previously told the State Journal that Chryst had contacted three assistants about going with him: linebackers coach Dave Huxtable, tight ends coach Joe Rudolph and Bostad.
The source said Huxtable was still a possibility, but Bielema might have just firmed up that situation.
“The last 48 hours have been all of that stuff going on,” Bielema said. “It was a good break for our players, because there were some things that needed to get sorted out.
“I know what’s going to happen. I don’t want to release anything. … Definitely going to be transition on my side.”
Bielema was asked if he planned to wait until after the Rose Bowl on Jan. 2 to make the announcement.
“I haven’t talked to those guys specifically,” he said. “It’s just one other guy.”
With Bostad being the confirmed departure, Bielema’s statement could be read as just Bostad going. Or, I suppose it could be taken to mean that “one other guy” means one more besides Bostad.
The whole thing is very awkward. You have Wisconsin getting ready for their bowl game out in California with at least two coaches departing. Pitt is more than a week away from their game with the skeleton staff — and are down in Alabama. Plus, a potential NFL position coach who is part of a squad heading to the playoffs — also in California.
The fact that so much of it (almost all of it) is taking place far away from Pittsburgh makes it even harder. Beat writers aren’t going to get very much information when the main players are all over the geographic place.
Like it or not, this means we really won’t get much of an idea about Pitt’s new staff, at best, until after Monday night’s Rose Bowl.
Here is what i dont bye huxtable and tomsula no way both becuse there will only be one DC.
you are not going to leave the nfl to coach the DL andhuxtable is not comeing to coach LB
so it is one or the outher not both
Regarding the current mood of the team, I understand that there is a solid team agreement that they really want to win this bowl game for deparding Coach Graham.
The rally cry is win one for Graham! Then shove up your ass, Toddy!
Thats the spirit!
Hail to Pitt!

I know that some times my posts are hard to read
but i posted last week 3 times that jonathan smith would be our QB coach and no one else posts any thing abought it.
but today some one posts aboght him and zoom it is big news. thats the way it goes.
Tomsula: Assistant Head Coach/DL Coach
Huxtable: Assistant Heac Coach/LB Coach
Whoever is not the AHC could be the DC. Either way the title will give them decent money. Not sure how much either are making now it just depends on how much Pitt is going to pony up to try and make this right.
OC Bostad
QB Smith
and rumored DC tomsula or huxtable
do you know is a staff 9 coachs counting the HC
or is it 9 coachs plus the HC which is then 10 ?
Todd Graham Head Coach

TG is a fraud
Wisconsin State Journal says that Huxtable was offered DC job but turned it down…maybe Tomsula got an offer after Huxtable turned PC down?
We’ll start finding out more about who is coming in a few days.
That is the nature of the coaching business and something that everyone knows is going to happen, or at least tried to have happen.
As a case in point, not too many PITT fans fault Rich Rodriguez for hiring those three staff coaches we had… but there are some negative feelings about the fact that the three bolted at the first opportunity.
