Never bought the possibility. Just did not see Chancellor Nordenberg signing off on Jim Tressel. The cover-up. So much plausible deniability that it is hard to deny. The undercurrent of fans, though, that somehow figured that if Tressel only got one-year show cause it was a possibility. However implausible.
That can die as the NCAA handed out its penalties on Ohio State and Jim Tressel.
You can read about the Ohio State penalties — 4 lost scholarships per year for the next 3 years, and a postseason ban for 2012-13.
For Jim Tressel, it is the end. He was hit with a 5-year Show Cause penalty.
He’s not coaching anywhere. No school is taking a chance on hiring him only to find out that the NCAA rejects him.
Well, on the bright side, suddenly NCAA penalties against Penn State suddenly sound more plausible too.
WVU and Pitt. Suddenly the clean programs in the neighborhood.
Now some of these morons suggesting PITT hire him, will latch on to some other moronic candidate.
Enough with this Ohio State crap. Walt was enough!
Or contributing to one of their possible political campaigns.
If that’s the yardmarker, Ped State should lose 40 per year.
We’ve always been a clean program.
Eyes today in the mail and who graces the last page? Ouch! Good riddance.
the stache is a real coaching app so now there are 4
All Smizik did was quote/link the same story I did. It is still a joke as far as having any real legitimacy.
No. It also had to do with the O.J. Mayo stuff. It was two sports — lack of institutional control — that did them in.
It didn’t help the way they stonewalled the NCAA. But it wasn’t “just Bush”
