I say ask all the recruits it will be their coach and any coach they hire is only going to be here long enough for them to graduate.

Cristobal was passed over for the Miami job last time around, what makes everyone think he is going to be the savior of that program if they enter another coaching search. The only way I see Cristobal at Miami is if PSU can pry Golden away right now.
I think with any of the 3 (Cryst, Cristobal, and Fickell) we are going to be in the right direction. Any shot Fickell is bringing good baggage (OSU Recruits pre-Meyer)?
I’ve decided that I don’t have a horse in the HC race. I supported the TG hire, and look where that got me. I’m somewhere in between “staying for a while” and “not sucking” in terms of qualities I’d like to see, but I’m just going to keep my mouth shut. Plus, my kids got some wicked-cool star wars toys for early Christmas presents, so I’ve got to prioritize…
Who do I think? Cristobal or Fickell. I have actually read somewhaere that Cristobal may want to pursue the PSU job, but not sure if that was a credible source.

Sounds about right, the way things have been going.
Fickel’s strength is said to be recruiting but do we really know that…you could dress up a monkey in an OSU sweatshirt and he could be a great recruiter for that program…I think his biggets weakness is as a game day coach and ahven’t we had enough of that when DW was here?
I would like them to at least give a look to Stoops and Austin but I do not see that happening…
so of the three seemingly under consideration nat this point, my I would want Christobal but who we get is probably Fickel…
Don’t minimize the input of a guy’s wife in such a decision and if Christobal’s wife is that tied in to south Florida, I do not see a move to Pittsburgh in the near future…
UM has Golden under contract until 2019 but UF might be open next season because their HC is under pressure.
Cristobal could be another 1 and done and yes his spouse could be a problem in a cold climate.
Cryst is the darkhorse and he might get it.
The longer it goes the more it favors Cristobal because he is waiting to coach the bowl game.
I just want them to name a coach and salvage the recruiting class.

The logical choice, considering where Pitt is headed (the ACC), HC experience, recruiting experience and running a program, is hands down Mario.
My question, why is the candidate list and those interviewed, so short? (yes I know we just went thru this process last year) Still doesn’t explain it. Why no Pitt Men being considered?
