The Pitt alumni in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area have established a new Pitt Club, and are trying to get the word out. They have a Facebook page and Twitter account.
This Saturday, they are holding a gathering to watch the game.
Since the game is a nooner on the East Coast, the event kicks off at 10am:
Frankie’s Sports Bar and Grill
2516 South Stemmons Freeway
NEC Hwy 121 & I-35E
Lewisville, Texas 75067
If you are down there, definitely drop in. Frustrating season, to be sure, but if the liveblogs have taught me anything. It’s that misery loves company.
‘Tino gives us our best option to win’
Really.
(if I hear those words again after this season, I might take some grad classes at UNC just to become a UNC person)
If you can stomach that game, you will be able to stomach just about anything. (er I forgot you guys have Rick Perry as Gov.) haha
have you ever hard that there is a lot in a name
if there is a name that sounds like a great QB it woud be this kid Dakota Conwell who knows
Virtus et DECUS
Agree Dakota sounds more like a QB than Tino. But then again so does Chad, Pat, Trey or Mark. haha
In fact this might be the last Tino that ever plays QB again, and hopefully (though I doubt it) will be the last Tino game.
Veritas et Virtus
HTP !
have a good day EMel and may we have a new QB next year so that we dont go nuts if i hear next year that tino is the QB i am done with pitt football.
The latter two might apply to Phile State though.
I heard that same exact thing as well. Heard it was just as bizarre as when he came in and started spouting off about Freddie Krueger in his introductory press conference.
That aside, I was grudgingly supportive of the hire until I heard how he dealt with the holdover assistant coaches from Wannstedt. Complete lack of class. I know he didn’t owe those guys anything, but there’s something to be said for professional courtesy, especially when you just got down talking about the image you want your kids to project.
Let’s just say his handling of those guys was about as sloppy as the suit Alexcih described.
Per Zeise on Twitter: “#Pitt defensive tackle Chas Alecxih on Mike Haywood ‘he was a jackass and he wore the worst suit I’ve ever seen.'”
Jerry DiPaola corroborates: “Pitt’s Chas Alecxih’s first impression on Michael Haywood: ‘He was a jackass and it looked like he got his suit from Goodwill.'”
Both also tweeted that Alexcih believes Pitt got it right with Graham, for whatever that’s worth. Alexcih has proven to be a pretty unfiltered guy when it comes to dealing with the media, so it’s probably safe to assume he speaks for at least a good portion of the team here.
Last and most importantly, Zeise tweeted this in regards to the QB situation next year: “Coach Todd Graham says the Panthers are open to a one-year quarterback for next year – similar to Wisconsin’s Russell Wilson.”
Apparently, Zeise will address this further in the next Redshirt Diaries post.
