This is what we’ve been waiting all week, and all day to see. Some unexpected extra hate towards Villanova with some naivete, foolishness and plain stupidity over where Pitt alum in Philly should watch the game.
Nova has put the game in the Pavilion. No doubt, it will be repeated ad nauseum that Pitt is winless there in the last six visits dating back to 1993. I guess it’s worth noting that before that, Pitt was 4-3 there.
Ashton Gibbs is still out for the game, at last check. Corey Stokes for Villanova is also reportedly out, as his turf toe has not gotten any better.
As usual, this will be a moderated chat. Probably a very good thing as emotions might be a little high. What with the aforementioned assholery of some Nova folk and the increased tension that comes with waiting all day for this game. (Not to mention drinking a few or a dozen adult beverages while watching basketball all day.)

thought Pitt won despite Gilbert
Lots of sad faces on the Main Line tonight.
Did anyone else hear the “Let’s go Pitt” cheer?
Great, tough win. My first star, Nasir.
Listing the bad plays; Pitt up by 10 points.
1) Instead of burning some more clock , he heaves up a long 3 pointer, no rime nor reason.
2) Still up by 10, he throws a terrible cross court pass over Nas’s head, after getting himself double teams on the sideline.
3) Pitt up by 8, he gets called for an over an back at halfcourt (again he got stuck on the same sideline)
4) Pitt up by six, he steps on the out of bounds line denying Pitt a opportunity to burn more clock and perhaps score more points.
That was almost a one man wrecking crew. Offensively he didn’t have it, Dixon should have done the offense/defense thing with him. He almost cost us the game and our 2 game lead in the BigEast.
That being said, Wannamaker was huge, I hope that ends the last of the negative Wanny comments. As we’ve been saying all season long, he’s our best player. Even dipshit Bilas agrees. I hope our Pitt alum in Philly enjoyed this after all the crap those Nova d-bags did this week with the pre-game party. Post game party at Kelly’s, wouldn’t that be great. We should move up to #1 this week but I know we won’t. Nobody else this week in the Top 4 beat a Top 10 team. WE DID !
Hail to Pitt !
I live within minutes of Kelly’s and have only been there twice. For sure, will never go again.
Hail to Pitt!
Rest assured if Uconn or Cusey or even Georgetown were 11-1 in the BigEast and 23-2 overall and were ranked in the Top 5 of the RPI and the circumstances were the same as now, THEY WOULD BE RANKED #1. No question in my mind.
@steve ….you are right, but like I posted, perhaps an offense/defense substitution with him might have worked better.
I just don’t understand him….I have never seen or coached a player like him. Forget the lazy passes and picking up his dribble right after the half court line setting up the trap….the play that really got me was stepping over the side foul line while dribbling the ball…this isn’t rec ball. Give Jamie credit for having them all shake off bad plays…a very gutsy win.
Hail to PITT!
