Big game today. Liveblog will kick in sometime around 3:15. The game’s start is not necessarily going to be on time since it follows the thrilling Rutgers-Auburn game.
As usual it is a moderated chat. Luke will start out in control of things. Let’s try and stay on the basketball side of things. Just this once. I’m stuck on DVR delay due to family obligations.
Liveblog is below. If you need to break the liveblog out from the site, Click Here.
#11 (Tenn) – #3 (Pitt) = 8 point favorite Pitt.
We’ll see how the whole team does against better competition. I hope Wanamaker can keep it under control along with Brown showing up.
Hail to Pitt.
Obviously, that won’t work. We may want to entertain an uptempo game in spurts, but no team in America gets the opponent to play THEIR style of play than Pitt.
We have been making some real progress on the turnover front. Wannamaker has been playing better as of late…which is a key.
These are the types of games where Senior leadership needs to shine.
PS– Early Bracketology has Pitt and Ohio State as #1 seeds; playing first round in Cleveland. Our second game matchup would be a #8 seed Temple (recently upset Georgetown). FWIW– it’s early, but maybe a Pittblather party in Cleveland???
And mind you, Tennessee didn’t have much of anything in the frontcourt. As there 3 best players are ALL guards. If we play a good team with a good frontcourt, we’ll get beat unless those guys get into foul trouble. But that is highly unlikely because McGhee & Robinson aren’t that talented offensively to get them into foul trouble.
Much as I hate to say this, it would have been better for the team, had Robinson’s injury lasted longer, as to give Zanna more time to play. As he has regressed since his 14 & 12 nite against Maryland at MSG and upon Robinson’s return.
Again I love both Gary & Nas, just being honest.
(wanny supporter, had to say it, sorry)
