Recruiting Fallout Seems Paused

The open lie in recruiting is that the players commit to the school not the coach. That’s what the NLI says. That’s what every program claims. Even in the face of statements from the kids who say upfront that they committed because of the coaches and/or the system they run. They may like the school, programs offered, the players they meet. But those are lower on the list.

Everyone knows it. When there is a coaching change, losses to a recruiting class have to be expected from all but the most deluded. When it is a coach like Dave Wannstedt, who is highly personable and very involved in the recruiting, I expected significant losses to the recruiting class. And for it to happen quickly.

Surprisingly, that really hasn’t been the case. After the initial shocked reaction to the firing by recruits (and the coaches), there hasn’t been a huge fallout — yet.

Some players have talked about reopening their commitments, but they had already seemed to do that. The firing of Wannstedt just allowed them to make it public. Yet, at the same time, they have been smart enough not to blindly toss aside a scholarship without being certain. Most of the stuff is behind pay walls for the details, but the implication or snippets indicate a lot of wait-and-see-attitude. Much like the stance taken by NJ commits Quinton Alston and Bill Belton.

“I’m going to stick with Pitt and see what they do with their staff,’’ Belton, a quarterback/safety from Winslow Township, said earlier this afternoon. “I’m waiting to see what they do with the staff and what coach they bring in. Those are the two major factors that would change my mind. If they don’t keep that staff, I might have to go in a different direction.’’

Alston was unavailable for comment but his mother, Connie Alston, said via e-mail that he was going to wait a few days in hopes of getting more information on the situation.

“He is still solid on Pitt,’’ she said, also noting that Quinton has received numerous phone calls from interested schools.

“He definitely has options, so that is a plus. I feel kind of bad, though, because he was/is very high on Pitt. … With that said, we also know that college football is a business.’’

Only one player has formally renounced his verbal commitment and committed elsewhere. Ben Kline switched from Pitt to Penn State. Kline was a very early Pitt commit. While that article makes it seem like he made the choice after the firing of Wannstedt, it has to be noted that he also took a recent visit to Penn State. So this may have happened with or without Wannstedt’s firing.

The Nittany Lions came through with their offer a couple of weeks ago, and Kline took an official visit to University Park last weekend. While he said he liked the atmosphere at Penn State, he didn’t want to decommit from Pitt. Then came Wannstedt’s resignation Tuesday.

“I was hesistant [to change], because I had made a commitment to these coaches. That was the biggest reason [for committing there],” Kline said. “When you took that away, though…. As soon as I heard Coach Wannstedt was stepping down, I pretty much knew what I was going to do.”

Sucks that he chose Penn State, but generally I have trouble begrudging kids the right to change their minds on verbals. I definitely won’t hold it against a kid who does so when the coach he thought he would play for is no longer there.

Even with the coaching change happening, at least one player is still hoping for an offer.

Three-star outside linebacker Dillon Lucas (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) has scholarship offers from Duke, Buffalo, Villanova and Youngstown State, but the offer he really wants is from Pittsburgh.

“If Pitt offered that would be my No. 1 school as of right now,” Lucas said.

Lucas said Pittsburgh, which parted ways with head coach Dave Wannstedt on Tuesday, is one of four schools that he hears from the most. West Virginia, Cincinnati and Villanova are the others. He said he’s also heard from Nebraska and Connecticut.

“Mostly Big East schools have started to contact me,” Lucas said. “Most of the schools have said they really like my speed. I’m a vocal leader and I take pride in my ability to run from sideline to sideline.”

Lucas is planning to take an official visit to Pitt in January (best way to see a good basketball game). Scout.com and Rivals.com both have him as a 2-star player. ESPN.com/Scouts, Inc. like him more (Insider subs.).

Lucas is a tough, active player capable of making plays all over the field. Has the height and athleticism for the outside linebacker position at the major level of competition; will need to add some bulk to his frame without hindering his playing speed. … This guy can punish and make ball carriers pay the price with his tough tackling ability. We like the intense motor and big play ability he brings to the game; it’s what we look for when evaluating linebackers. Lucas may need some time to add weight to his frame.

So there’s that.

I didnt realize that Chris Petersen was a QB coach at PITT. He makes 1.6 Million a year how about 2 Million to come to PITT?

Definition of “delusion of grandeur” : Sixth in Big East and 58th nationally in coaches salaries and must win Big East out right every year, see Pitt.

I guess you do get what you pay for. Dave Wannstedt was a bargain. We should have kept him, financially speaking, of course.

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 10:38 am

Happy to see the recruiting situation temporarily, at least, stabilized. Still extremely concerned that the coaching change process seems to have been so very poorly managed to this point.

Still hoping there is already a committed quality replacement coach ready to sign on the dotted line and this “search process” rhetoric is solely AD speak and not reality.

Hate to believe that the AD would let one coach go without having the replacement already lined up. Needing to conduct a potentially drawn out search, IMO, is incompetence. Such searches historically have had a far better chance of ending up badly than ending well.

I’m waiting and hoping for the best to happen and quickly, but expecting the worst to occur after long delays and quality candidates turning Pitt down at some late date with the end result being an uninspiring hire who will not advance the program but will ultimately cause it to regress.

Comment by pitt1972 12.09.10 @ 10:45 am

Pitt1972, Pedersen is no dummy. I am sure he saw this season slipping away many weeks ago and began to do some searching behind closed doors. I am sure he has made some contacts prior to Tuesday. I am just hoping he doesn’t go for the old NFL retread (which I dont believe he will). Pitt needs to step into the 21st century and run innovative college offensive and defensive schemes. Please destroy Wannys parchment playbook and bury it under the Cathedral never to be used again.

Comment by Coach Ditka 12.09.10 @ 11:06 am

Doesn’t Pederson have a history of taking a long time?

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 11:08 am

No. Actually Dave Wannstedt was incompetence. pitt1972 they could hire you and I would feel more comfortable. I don’t care who the next coach is or how long it takes. Dave Wannstedt needed to go!

Comment by Omar 12.09.10 @ 11:09 am

So far on record 2 players Gary Nova and Lafayette Pitts (but waiting to see what coaches remain) are
staying and 2 players leaving Ben Kline (official) and Desimon Green. It is fairly safe to say that there won’t be much of the coaching staff left.
link to blogs.sites.post-gazette.com
I wouldn’t call it stabilized. The recruits would be smart to hold their Pitt offers until they get written offers from other schools. Most schools have finished their recruiting process but some of the Pitt recruits are good enough to find a way to make them an offer. This will take some time and we probably won’t be able call it stabilized until after the new head coach is in place. The only thing that is stabilized is that now they aren’t twittering on emotions.

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 11:20 am

Omar–No objection to making a change. Just want it to be for the better not for the worse. So far I haven’t seen any evidence that this process isn’t going to be any better than a crap shoot.

Comment by pitt1972 12.09.10 @ 11:31 am

Coach K says that Kyrie Irving might be out for the season. That is terrible break for Duke. That kid was phenomenal. Hope he gets back sooner than that.

Pitt has a serious opportunity to get to the Final 4 this year. It will be a big disappointment if they don’t advance deep into March. This team has very few weaknesses. Coach Dixon really needs to develop the team for a late season run.

Comment by Omar 12.09.10 @ 11:33 am

This is the BEST candidate for head coach at Pitt with the resources available; Pitt will NOT pay more than 1.5 million per year for the next head coach.

Beginning as a graduate assistant in 2001, Harsin has been part of the building Boise State into the highest scoring offense in the country. This past year the Broncos led the country in scoring (42.21 PPG), and over the past decade (2000-09) Boise State has led the nation in scoring (41.40 ppg).

Pederson needs to move FAST on this and CLOSE THE DEAL!

Comment by Vic Money 12.09.10 @ 11:40 am

Umm, at 1.5 M we are still sixth in HC salary in the BE. Championships on the cheap. So all we can afford is a guy that participated in the building of a high powered offense and not the real deal.

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 12:20 pm

I really believe Pitt will pony up and offer at least $2 mil per year – at this point they have to if they are serious. I mean really, Rutgers and Uconn football programs are outspending us on a head coach??? And apparently they have been getting off on the cheap with the stache so now its time to pay the piper and get serious.

Comment by Coach Ditka 12.09.10 @ 12:44 pm

According to Chris Peak, Kline has always wanted to go to PSU, but they didn’t show much interest until this fall. Once they started showing interest, he started hinting that he might “decommit” from Pitt. In the meantime, PSU finally offered. It sounds like Wannstedt’s situation gave him a good excuse to announce what was probably inevitable anyhow.

Comment by Pantherman13 12.09.10 @ 12:50 pm

Im hearing a rumor that Tom Bradley has actually contacted Pitt….

For me personally, I dont want Bradley. A great recruiter but I don’t see Pitt making any great strides under his guidance. just my opinion.

Comment by Coach Ditka 12.09.10 @ 12:51 pm

Do you really believe that Pitt will double what they paid Dave? Does anyone? If they don’t it’s time for the administration to go.

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 12:58 pm

Agreed Ditka,

If Bradley was the man he wouldn’t be still waiting for the OLD MAN to keel over he would be elsewhere by now.

Comment by Tony in Harrisburg 12.09.10 @ 12:59 pm

Linebacker U, 100k fans in the stands every game, Big Ten, Winning tradition. Hell, even I could recruit for PSU.

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 1:22 pm

any one know who pitt contacted today about the HC postition? its on rivals but i dont have a rivals account?

Comment by mike 12.09.10 @ 2:00 pm

According to Zeise at the P-G, Pitt has initiated contact with Dana Holgorsen and Al Golden. Additionally, Pitt has been contacted by Teryl Austin, Sal Sunseri, Mark Stoops and Tom Bradley, each of whom indicated interest.

Comment by Pantherman13 12.09.10 @ 2:21 pm

Forget Golden. He’s just pulling smoke and mirror tricks at Temple. They haven’t gotten that much better.

Comment by Pittastic 12.09.10 @ 2:23 pm

“If Bradley was the man he wouldn’t be still waiting for the OLD MAN to keel over he would be elsewhere by now.”

Bradley IS the man at Penn State in everything but job title (I’d like to find out how much the REAL coach of the Nittany Lions is making).

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my Dad 12.09.10 @ 2:42 pm

In regard to “the open lie in recruiting”, unfortunately a good recruiter for OSU, MSU or PSU doesn’t translate to a good recruiter for Pitt. At OSU, MSU and PSU the recruits go for the school, a football program. The reality is that at Pitt they go for the man because Pitt just doesn’t have the recruiting advantages that the other schools have. And the man is gone.

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 3:18 pm

Pittastic–I’m finishing up my undergrad career at Temple, and I will say that TU has definitely gotten better under Al Golden. To say that the program hasn’t made progress is ridiculous–Temple football is now getting front-page coverage in the Philadelphia Inquirer, a fairly decent student section, and are competitive in their league when they couldn’t even win a game a few years ago. He’s getting consistent, 3-star recruits to a MAC school in a Big East/Big 10/ACC area.

Comment by merlin 12.09.10 @ 3:21 pm

Merlin,

It sounds like you’re trying to sell us on Al Golden. If he is so great, then why is that?

Comment by shadyforpresident 12.09.10 @ 3:29 pm

Pitt better go steal some of ups’s recruits. AOL on their sports page has a story on joepud,s retirement. He announced it today. For anyone who thinks the series will resume between Pitt and ups better think again. That series is over. It went the way of the Edsel.

Comment by joel 12.09.10 @ 3:30 pm

I wrote this yesterday, SP should have already had someone or someone(s) in mind for the job, BEFORE letting Wanny go. It’s not like we were 2-10 this year and 1-11 last year. If he didn’t have someone already lined up for the job, he should be left go.

We have a ready made team for success and an excellent recruiting class coming in. I would also be surprised if Wanny still isn’t involved with recruiting in some aspect.

Comment by carolinapanther 12.09.10 @ 3:43 pm

I’ve been had. Went back and reread the story and it sounded legit. Then I looked on the left side of the page and there was another article where the joepudser stated “he couldn’t let U. Myer retire without him retiring. I been had. sorry!!!

I swear I heard that Al Golden is waiting to take the job at PSU, if so Pitt won’t be able to get him. I like Dana Holgerson, I think he would be a really good choice. Bradley would be solid too, but I’d prefer go younger with the coach.

I agree. I don’t see the Penn State game coming back because Tim Curley Penn State A.D. is all about the money. No one thinks Bradley is a serious candidate except Paul Zeise and the Penn State bloggers at blachshoes who have run 2 features on that very possibility. Apparently, word is out that Spannier and Curley will look for a big name coach when Joe goes.

If you gave a coach like Petersen that is in a non AQ conference more than double his salary he wouldnt concider it? Newer facilaties, History and a Opportunity to play for a National Championship every year. Just sounds to me they are going to try and be cheap about it and get some (Coordinator) for a bargain price. This job needs to be a Destination job not a stepping stone job.

If we keep Gattuso and/or Bennett, we don’t need to hire a D-minded coach like Stoops or Austin…please, just get us someone who can score points again. For all Walt’s faults, at least they could move the ball, score, and were fun to watch. Bring us Holgorsen or the OC from Boise or wherever and rev up Graham, Myers, Street, and Shanahan and get paid, yo! Damn, I’m so very tired of three yards and a cloud of dust!

Frank – thanks for the clarification. I am also of the mind that Bradley isn’t really a good fit, although it has nothing to do with his PSU roots. I would much rather see a young, innovative, and possibly offensive minded coach. I’d be happy with Holgorsen.

Comment by steve 12.09.10 @ 4:49 pm

A quote from someone else “Christian:I can’t help but wonder if Pitt’s fanbase suffers from a severe case of Clemson syndrome. So many people expect 10 wins a season, every season while simultaneously not supporting the program, not attending games, and constantly ripping the players. Do you feel there is a problem with expectations among the fan base? I feel like a good chunk of them would be unhappy with 90% of the BCS programs.

Comment by POLE 12.09.10 @ 4:50 pm

We do not suffer from Clemson syndrome. We have proven in the past and in basketball that we will pack the stadium for a winning team.

We will also pay for a coach who proves he can win. We have shown this with Dixon.

Comment by Todd Gack 12.09.10 @ 5:31 pm

The reason i dont want golden or rodes or bradley is i would not feel exaltation they would all be better than dave. but they would not make me want to run out and bye a ticket for next years games.but the boise coach or holgorsen who has thethe number one offence in football orbronco mendenhall who has wining season every year at brigham young. that would make me get that ticket. i want to see all the seats full at the games i want excitement.bradley or golden would not do that .

Todd Gack, when have we proven to pack the stadium for a winner unless we were playing WVU, ND or PSU? WE sure as hell didn’t come close in 76-82 at 53,000 Pitt Stadium when we had Top 10 teams annually. Had we had any sellouts at Heinz that weren’t vs WVU or ND? Maybe, Cincy last year .. but I’m not even sure about that.

I actually pretty much agree with guy who compared us to the Clemson crowd. Hell, we complain (and many won’t show) for noon starts!!

Comment by wbb 12.09.10 @ 7:36 pm

OK, here’s my theory: Nothing is more important than looks.

Edsall and Urban are like twins. Ergo, Edsall gets the job.

Why do you think Mike Rice got the RU job? Pernetti, Schiano and Rice are virtual triplicates.

So whoever comes close to Jamie gets the Pitt job.

Mark my words.

Rhoads has a two million bye out so we can forget him which is good. al golden would be boring wont fill the seats even if better than dave. and would mean they didnt want to spend money for some one better or no one good wanted job.If we dont get bronco mendenhall or dana holgorsen or chris peterson it will mean we were cheap with the money. if that happens we might as well kept dave. if you dont get one of them it will be the same old garbage boring football. we need fresh air new thinking.

Comment by FRANKCAN 12.09.10 @ 8:08 pm

Frank, I am surprised at your continued insistence that we stop playing “boring” football. Who cares how “boring” the game is to a casual fan as long as we win? For the next coach, I’ll take the guy who is a no-name to the casual fan if it results in long-term improvement to the program. Who ever bought a ticket based on the coach’s name anyway?

Comment by Navy Panther 12.09.10 @ 8:15 pm

foot ball is a business a coach with a big name sells seats do you know why prior did not come to pitt. he said he did not want to play in a half empty stadium if you think 3 yd and a cloud sells you should have kept dave. i like a big crowd at games more fun that way .

Comment by FRANKCAN 12.09.10 @ 8:32 pm

Ican remember siting in the standswith fifty four thousand fans yelling hiugh waiting two seconds then yelling green than doeing it all over agein hugh pause green it gave me chills that was when foot ball was fun i was there for dan i was there for tony d and we were loud i wat that back the pride the noise the good times the fun if you were there you would want it back also and it was not boring.

Comment by FRANKCAN 12.09.10 @ 8:45 pm

I don’t think you need to throw the ball 50 times a game to be considered NOT boring. When Graham & Dion have a good offensive line, they can break a long run at any time. THAT IS NOT BORING. Who doesn’t enjoy watching good running backs?

Pitt’s offense was not boring most of last year.
It averaged the most PPG it’s averaged since 1982.

Get the right QB in there, with Dion & Ray and this offense would be dynamic. You need a QB who can stretch the field, so the other team can’t stack the box to stop the run. You stretch the Defense and Dion & Ray will run hog wild.

P.S. Sunseri is not that QB, those of you who think he is, don’t know much about football.

Comment by carolinapanther 12.09.10 @ 9:36 pm

Comment by FRANKCAN 12.09.10 @ 9:37 pm

I think most college fans, especially the young ones, have ADD or ADHD. If the ball is not being tossed around on every play, they think it’s boring.

Our great 1976 team with Touchdown Tony Dorsett as the main offensive weapon would be boring to them.

Get on some meds or change your bad diets, get off the cell phones, quit watching shows on TV that change the camera angle every second, while texting at the same time and quit multi-tasking. You’ll be better off.

Ok I’m done. 🙂

Comment by carolinapanther 12.09.10 @ 9:42 pm

Let’s clear some confusion up, over whether Pitt would support a winner. To a few of you up there trying to pull revisionist history. Yes, it’s true, other than Penn St., ND, and WVU, Pitt has had a tough time selling out, at Pitt Stadium or Heinz field. Please do not try to paint a picture of empty stadiums for Dorsett through Marino, because, that in fact, is misinformation. Allthough not sold out, average attendances were 49,000 to 54000. So, you are correct in saying “they didn’t even sell out for Dorsett or Marino”, yes, technically you are correct, but, you paint a picture like there was only 10-15 thousand people there. That is false and misleading to the younger fans. Let me tell the younger fellas exactly how it was, because I was at every game, I’m only 45, and my memory is sharp. PSU, ND, WVU, sold out, stadium overflowing, excitement unbeleivable. Next tiers of teams, both sides filled, one end zone filled, one end zone kinda hit and miss with some peole here and there. Against some scrubs, both end zone areas kind of hit and miss. So, the fact of the matter is, including nowadays, no, Pitt is not a sell out specialist…..but, when the team is winning, and there is a half decent schedule, you can put 50-55k asses in the seats. Are we gonna put 100,000 in, no, of course not, but, if we win, we can have excellent game day crowds of 45-55k and sell out for PSU, WV, and ND, and, on a given year, if we have an Ohio ST or Oklahoma or Florida St come in. The answer is………we will and have done, in the past, support a winner. We don’t have the base for 100,000k, but, don’t rewrite history, I was there, and a lot of fans supported the Dorsett through Marino years. Yes, empty seats sometimes, but don’t try to tell people only 5 or 10 thousand showed up. It’s not that dissimilar now. When we win, we get a good 40-55k, when we stink, 20-30k die hards. Ideally, for the fan base we have, a 35,40, 45k stadium would be ideal, on campus. With Heinz Field, not gonna get 65k unless previously mentioned teams. That, however, does not mean the fan base does not support the team. We do not have a Michigan or Texas fan base. We have a small fan base, that does not mean, that Pitt does not have fan support. Don’t confuse the two. Two totally different things.

Comment by DAN 12.09.10 @ 9:50 pm

I agree carolinapanther. Many comments I have read here seem mainly focused on going to a passing spread or passing offense as opposed to ball control. Ball control isn’t fun or exciting. I beg to differ. A GOOD ball control offense is just as exciting to me as the offenses continually mentioned here like Houston & Oklahoma. Alabama, Ohio State, Nebraska, Va. Tech, etc seem to have some excited and full crowds. I think the stands will be more full with a winning and competitive product. Seriously, anyone watched an Ohio State game? Tressell is more dinosaur in his offense than Wanny was…

And I haven’t read anyone on here who thought Tino was the qb to stretch the field, etc. I don’t think we had a qb on the roster who would have done that THIS YEAR. Next year, I hope Mark Myers is that guy.

Comment by Bowling Green Panther 12.09.10 @ 9:50 pm

but shurmur would be better than golden or bradley he might be ok good offensive coordinator but he would still be my forth choice

Comment by FRANKCAN 12.09.10 @ 9:52 pm

Give the kids a break, grandpa — ‘I seen Red Grange play and I’ll tell ya, nobody can do it now like that guy could…’. As the kids like to say, ‘whatevs’. Times change — I loved Tony D and that was a great team, but damn, that was during the Ford administration. Its okay to change sometimes…yes, we need good running, but if it ain’t workin, you have to adjust. This was Wanny’s bane — nobody argued with his theory, but when it doesn’t get the job done, you have to adjust. It’s like the British sending wave after wave of guys at the German machine guns in WWI trenches…its not working and people have other ideas.

Comment by Matt N. 12.09.10 @ 9:54 pm

FRANKCAN, absolutely correct. They passed those little red and green cloths out, I think I still have some in a drawer somewhere. Those were fantastic teams, fantastic times, and, we can still have more fantastic teams and times ahead, if Steve and Mark make the correct decision. Winning is the number one thing. Type of play can be important, but is superceded by winning. DW type of play would have been let go if there were not losses to Ohio, Bowling Green, pastings by Miami etc., etc. etc. I like the idea of an exciting offense, but, more than that, the excitement of team 8-0 or 9-0, ranked #7 in the country with certainty of going to the Sugar or Fiesta Bowl trumps all. Pick the right guy, win the games, people will come.

It is so funny to go back and forth from Steeler blogs to Panther blogs…

“Fire Arians! He’s a moron! All he does is pass! too much shotgun. Too many empty backfield. Where’s the fullback? You can’t win without a fullback. Elminate the mistakes. Control the clock.”

“Fire Wanny & Cignetti! They’re morons! All he does is run. Not enough shotgun. Not enough empty backfields. Why a fullback. Nobody uses a fullback anymore. Why the focus on mistakes? Screw the clock! Ball on your own 12 with 37 seconds left in the half, why not go for the touchdown? We need to throw it 50 times or nobody will come to a game!”

It is great comedy relief.

I THINK SOME OF YOU MISUNDRSTAND ME I LIKE A GOOD RUNING GAME AND YES WINNING WILL EVENTUSLLY FILL THE SEATS BUT THE RIGHT COACH WITH RIGHT REPUTATION WILL MAKE EXCITEMENT AND YOU WILL SELL SEATS BEFORE A BALL IS THROWN FANS WILL WANT TO BE THERE BEFORE THE SEASON EVEN STARTS BUT AL GOLDEN WOULD HAVE TO WIN BEFORE THE EXCITEMENT CAME BUT WITH RIGHT COACH IT WOULD THERE FROM HIS FIRST DAY OF HIRE YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN.

Yep Frank, and, the times can be good again. Like I said, hope they get an exciting offense, biggest thing is to win though. My neighbor, who is a young guy (32) HA HA, just had a fantastic point as we discussed things. He said, “take two Dion Lewis 48 yd scampers off of right tackle.”, this guy gets it, he said, “on one run, same exact run mind you, you are 2W and 2L and you’re hanging on for a win against Florida International”……”on the other, identical run, you are 8W-1L or 9W-0, about ready to go up 24-7 late in the 4th quarter to WVU, and you’re ranked #9 in the country, and you can’t wait to get to the car, to see if LSU, Texas and Stanford lost to see how spots in the poll you’re gonna jump up”. Exactly, same two runs, but, yet, totally different.

Also, last thing for the night. One of the radio guys bugged me today. Said, ya, he didn’t do so good, but, Pitt lost a teacher of young men. I wanted to call in so bad, but, I never do. Whose to say the new coach won’t be a stand up guy and a teacher of young men??????

I WILL MIKE MY POINT IF YOU WOKE UP FRI AM AND FLOIDA COACH URBAN MEYER WAS PITTS HIRE YOU WOULD BE ORDERING TICKETS BEFORE NOON BUT IF IT WAS GOLDEN YOU WOULD GET THEM NEXT YEAR OR WAIT TO SEE HOW THE TEAM DID IN FIRST GAME YOU SEE NOW WHY I WANT A COACH THAT BRINGS EXCITEMENT.
