As you should know, the liveblog is in the post below, and being run by Luke as usual.
I just got in from the in-laws. Ah, driving through Southeastern Ohio. Where the, uh, finest qualities of Kentucky and West Virginia combine in an awesome display of desolation and depression.
Interesting, though, since I then have to come up through WV on 1-79. In past years, the road has been full early with Hoopies heading to the ‘Burgh. Not this year. Little traffic (except around the exit to get to Cabela’s). And definitely light heading to the stadium from ‘Eer fans. That tells me they are as unsure and lacking in real confidence in their team as many Pitt fans are.
I’ll take any good signs I can get. On Tuesday after I finally finished that night gig I’ve been doing I ran into another Pitt fan in downtown Cleveland. Something that just doesn’t happen too often. Rob was walking his dog and noticed my hat. Another season ticket holder heading to the game today, who also was at the 13-9 game.
I don’t know what to expect today. Both teams are probably going to be a bit tight at first. Hopefully it will be a lot of Bill Stewart faces rather than the confused, running the hand through the hair look of Wannstedt that dominates the sideline shots.
Time to go tailgate. I’ll be tweeting during the game, and again, right below is the livebog
the football and basketball teams are reflections of their head coaches.
Next game for Uconn…USF in Tampa.
Yep, it is possible that the Hoopies may end up at the top of the Big Least.
What a disgrace this season has been for Pitt
USF is clearly up and coming with a young creative coach….and has anybody noticed that Louisville is waking up too.
We are going to sink like a cement block next year if Wanny is still pacing on the sidelines at empty Heinz Field!!
No problem, if Pitt beats Cincy maybe Uncle Steve will add two years to Wanny’s contract.
Aaaaaaaaaaargh…I just woke up after a terrible nightmare.
