Oh, happy days indeed. Pitt has a second commit in football today. Artie Rowell out of Central Dauphin (Harrisburg, for those of you from outside the state) has given his verbal.
Good news, he is an offensive lineman. He is listed as an offensive guard, with offers from Temple and Northwestern at this point (and interest from PSU, MSU, Rutgers and Iowa).
ESPN/Scouts, Inc. doesn’t have an evaluation (Insider subs) on him but does have him in their top-150 watchlist.
Measurables according to Rivals.com and ESPN put him at 6-2, 296. Scout.com says 6-3, 280
Scout.com lists him as a 3-star, but more importantly lists him as the #12 Center in the 2011 class.
I’ll be honest. I could care less about stars at this point. He can actually play center it would seem. It means Pitt actually has a recruit that doesn’t have to be converted to the position or brought in from JUCO to plug the spot. That’s what has me excited.

Any suggestions as to where I should live? I am looking for an apt and then possibly a condo or home once I’m there a while.
I would strongly recommend Cobblestone Court in Painesville (if you are looking to stay close to Mentor, easy access to highway, great value for your money, and near entertainment like movie theaters, bars, restaurants and stores). Cobblestone Court is technically in Painesville, but it is a 9 iron from Mentor. It is off of Heisley Road, directly off of Route 2. Nice location to get anywhere in Mentor and to slip to other areas on the East side or downtown.
My friend moved there a year ago and really liked it because it was all new, and had great features like a gym and pool. I would life there if I worked in that part of town.
Keep in mind, Mentor proper is a bit goofy to get around, and there are not many new apartments in the town. Painesville has a lot more new apartments in the 750 to 1000 range, and most places like CC have optional covered parking if needed. No riff raff. Your in the snow belt, so expect to get pounded in the winter.
Downtown is about 30 minutes away, but there are some cool areas closer you if you want some nightlife like Mentor and Willoughby (home of Chas). You are close to a couple malls and all of the other stuff needed to live comfortably.
Good luck and congrats on the job. Good timing, the first round of the tourney is at the Q this year and we might see our boys there!

any thoughts on Willoughby?
Downtown WBY has a nice feel to it, a quaint little downtown area with shops, restaurants, etc. I go there a lot to the WBY brewing company and to Oliver Twist. PArking in downtown WBY can be tough on the w/e though, but overall a nice place to live on the Eastside.
