At the very least it would have given them more incentive in the second half.
The annual schwag list is out for the bowl games.
The Sugar Bowl looks like a winner: Sony, Apple, Trek, Garmin and Weber gift suit. Plus a watch, hat, laptop bag and a recliner(?).
The Meineke bowl has an ipod touch, speakers and $20 gift card or a Bose gift package along with a watch, duffel bag and a Commemorative Richard Petty Driving Experience photo.
Still better than Birmingham — cheap RCA camcorder and backpack — and the Gator — watch and sunglasses.
And what college student in his right mind wouldn’t want a photograph of a funny looking white guy with a comically huge cowboy hat and a Wanny-esque mustach to go with it?
Of course, were there to be a bowl in Pittsburgh (Heinz Ketchup Bowl?), it would probably include WWF t-shirts from 1988, a Troy Palamalu wig and a Primanti sandwich – so no disrespect to the great state of NC.
While I appreciate the thought of them next to Richard Petty as much as the next guy, I think JW has the right idea – they get to ride along in a car, and a photo to go along with that.
Not exactly the thrill of a picture of your team on the field at the Superdome, but something different, and better than a Fossil watch.
Considering you sleep in your yugo, you already saved on hotel costs!
Please beat the Tar Heels, btw. At least you don’t have to deal with that Nicks dude…that guy was GOOD.
wait, you mean you still have a couple of couches left?? you fellas are really slipping! It would save on travel costs, for as little as these minor bowls pay out and for as many tickets Pederson will have to buy for a “sellout” we might even break even.
On the other hand, who in the hell wants to spend Christmas in Charlotte ..or, for that matter, wants to take an all day drive on the day after just to get to the game on time? Once again, Pitt will be under-represented in abowl game but this time it is very justified to my way of thinking.
