An exact score winner this week. Brian made the pick and was dead on at 24-17.
Mark in DC was heartbreakingly close with a pick of 23-16. Something that will surely haunt him for weeks on end.
Sorry for the lost weekend. Had to travel and no chance to log-on. I’ll be back later with an abbreviated media recap.
USF will probably have a lot to prove.. since oct/nov is annual meltdown time for USF… same script.. get ranked.. jump out undefeated then lose the rest of the way out. SO they must have that on their minds.. and will have plenty of motivation.
I hope we can put some decent football together… we are playing ok.. and we are winning.. but playing ok will not be good enough for our remaining games…..
Hopefully the Cold weather at Heinz field will be an advantage for us over USF.
I just talked to someone who was in the Pitt Section and he confirmed that the seats were awful.
But much worse were the Rutgers fans. They cursed and picked fights. They threw containers of ice into the Pitt Section. I’m told it got so bad that Security Guards had to ring the Section.
Can anyone who went confirm? If this was the case I apologize for my fellow Jerseyans because I’m sure they won’t.
That was a first.. i have never had somebody cut infront of me then proceed to make fun of me at the sametime…lol.
Then again you have most old school football players that acted like men but that era was one that can never be again. If you love sports and can’t respect that time, then you are missing the point. So I definitely see your point of view. There is nothing like an old school Middle Linebacker.
But, I would take an emotional 19 year old LB over one that just walks away after a big play. Nowadays you have to pump up your defense and show hope in different ways. The game is very diverse now and you have to find a way to bond with people that are different than you. When you make a big play touchdown and celebrate, everyone can understand that it is a “good” thing.
As for the Rutger’s fans, that is unfortunate but it doesn’t surprise me. Drunk + New Jersey + favorite team losing = Time to drive to NYC and pick a fight with someone from Long Island. That is at least from my experiences and I have had plenty of them growing up in Queens and Long Island. At least they are showing passion for their team. If they didn’t then there is no point arguing with a tourist.
Why? Because we’re still not sure how good the Bulls were in the first place. Even with the Cincy game (where they got smoked), they have one of the worst schedules of all Div 1A teams. They played one decent team, and lost by more than two TDs.
They were ranked by virtue of being 5-0, and beating a team with a good name (FSU, who sucks this year). I went over this all at the end of the Rutgers post
So, we still don’t know if this is a good team coming into Heinz with a chip on their shoulder after a loss, or a fraud that we should be able to beat.
The mobile QB scares me, but I think we may be able to pound it up the gut on them.
