There is really no logical way to put Pitt on the second line. They can’t argue about Fields’ health because then they would have to drop UNC and Ty Lawson’s toe a notch.
It is really about finding out if Pitt will be in the East (Dayton and Boston) or West (Philly and Glendale).
I have a hunch that Louisville just played their way to getting the Midwest #1 (Dayton and Indy).
everything ive seen says their gonna give UNC the east and us the midwest with louisville getting memphis……hope it ends up like that….uconn and memphis fight over the west, and then most likely we’ll get duke in our bracket…cant see how they would give oklahoma or mich st over duke……

It seems to me with all the NCAA rules regarding placing teams close to home and separating teams from the same conference etc that we could easily end up either Dayton/Indianapolis or Dayton/Boston. I just don’t see us ending up in Philadelphia or the West
Does anyone understand the Memphis No. 1 seed talk? There best win of the season, according to RPI, is at No. 21 Tennessee. They played three teams who were ranked in the Top 25 at the time they played them and they went 1-2 – only beating Gonzaga, which UCONN spanked. UConn has wins against RPI 5, 12, 13 and 20. If Memphis gets a No. 1 seed, it means Calipari can get a No. 1 seed without beating a Top 25 team and beating up on a pathetic conference. Bob Ryan on the Sports Reporters this morning compared Memphis to what UNLV did in the 1990s, but there’s one big difference. UNLV was undefeated in one of those seasons and had a single loss in the other. Can Memphis really earn a No. 1 seed with its best win against a major-conference team being a team with 12 losses?
link to cbssports.com – says RPI No. 29 for Gonzaga. I just don’t buy a team from a non-BCS conference can get a No. 1 seed unless it showed it can beat a top team in a BCS conference.
Good bracket, but we need to be concerned with FSU and UCLA, if they get far enough to match up against us. Howland knows how to play us. FSU is just as physical and they have the revenge factor. Otherwise I like the matchups
