A commemorative t-shirt? For the polls? Really?
I know it’s the first time. I know I said it’s a big achievement and one Pitt fans should be proud, happy about and even celebrate. I’m just not there for a t-shirt.
I really don’t know what to say about that, other than: blatant cash-in/grab.
HORRIBLE IDEA.
So bad I have come up with a few other bad t-shirt ideas:
“The 2009 Detroit Lions. WE FINALLY WON A GAME.”
“WVU football, We peaked in ’06”
“Bernard Pollard Fan Club” (he’s the guy that wrecked Tom Brady’s knee, and the t-shirts were real.
Okay, that’s all I got. Anymore bad t-shirt ideas?
It’s better than printing Sun Bowl defense T shirts.
Oh well. Go Pitt!!!

Announcer in tonight’s Duke-Davidson tilt:
“Zoubek with the rebound, he’s given Duke that inside presence that has been lacking the past few years.”
7.5 ppg, and 4.9 rpg is obviously stellar, but the more impressive part is that we’re giving this guy credit for filling the void of…himself! He plays 14 minutes a night. He’s a Junior! He played 7 minutes a game as a Freshman, and 10.5 last year. So he’s really filled that gap in the middle that guys like himself manned in years past.

Really folks,
This is fairly low — manufacturing this garbage. In a week’s time, though (like the Sun Bowl), few will remember this marketing idiocy (insult, blunder). (Mr. Pederson, please stand Up.)
And, whereas I do not like to, or make a habit of, calling-out any fan on this board, can we be real for second or so: to arm ones self in favor of this t-shirt smacks of borderline intelligence (from a less PC critic: retardation). Let’s think on this, please: Are we a “desperate university?” Or, do we have more than just our sports programs to sell? WTF?
As for the Sun Bowl:
Big shock, I know, but even if we played an uglier game than our opponent, we didn’t “back-up” into the contest.” It sure as sh*t wasn’t the Fiesta Bowl of ’04. The latter cannot be matched in embarrassment. & if you were privileged enough (cared enough, that is) to watch that game, only then can you trade comparisons.. for which there are not.

The shirt, although annoying, doesn’t bother me too much. Considering where Pitt came from, I say the University celebrates the No. 1 ranking.

Keith, I am a diehard t-shirt collector and Detroit Lions fan. My favorite Detroit Lions t-shirt from this year is, “2008 Preseson Champions†due to the 4-0 record. I love this #1 Pitt t-shirt and the best part is that dino-cat is gracing the front of it looking as mean as ever!

Good idea. Why wouldn’t you want to have a Tee-shirt commemorating a new first and new high for PITT BB? Whats wrong with it? It might generate a little more excitement about PITT. Is that bad? If so, this blog must be full of Yinzers too. It is worse to talk about Steelers on PITT blogs and boards and far worse to wear Steelers and SPU stuff at PITT games. These sites are supposed to be about PITT. The Tees are about PITT. Does it bother people here that te Tees say something good about PITT? Yinzers!
