Pitt hasn’t announced its full schedule, but the Big East has released the full conference schedule with dates and major TV for 2008-09.

Sunday, Dec. 21 — Pittsburgh at Florida State, 5:30 p.m., FSN

Big East Pitt schedule

Wednesday, Dec. 31 — Pitt @ Rutgers

Saturday, Jan. 3 — Pittsburgh at Georgetown, ESPN

Sunday, Jan. 11 — St. John’s at Pittsburgh

Wednesday, Jan. 14 — USF @ Pitt

Saturday, Jan. 17 — Pittsburgh at Louisville, 6 p.m., ESPN

Monday, Jan. 19 –Syracuse at Pittsburgh, 7 p.m., ESPN

Sunday, Jan. 25 — Pittsburgh at West Virginia

Wednesday, Jan. 28 — Pittsburgh at Villanova

Saturday, Jan. 31 — Notre Dame at Pittsburgh, Noon, ESPN

Saturday, Feb. 7 — Pitt @ DePaul

Monday, Feb. 9 — West Virginia at Pittsburgh, 7 p.m., ESPN

Saturday, Feb. 14 — Cincinnati at Pittsburgh, 4 p.m., ESPN

Monday, Feb. 16 — Pittsburgh at Connecticut, 7 p.m., ESPN

Saturday, Feb. 21 — DePaul @ Pitt

Tuesday, Feb. 24 — Pittsburgh at Providence

Saturday, Feb. 28 — Pitt @ Seton Hall

Wednesday, March 4 — Marquette at Pittsburgh, 7:30 p.m., ESPN2

Saturday, March 7 — Connecticut at Pittsburgh, Noon, CBS Sports

Half of Pitt’s Big East schedule gets nationally televised, with the potential for more to be picked up. I’m a little annoyed that Pitt only got one game on CBS.

All the non-con games except for Florida State are at home this year.

Oh sweet Lord, not a moment too soon! ANYTHING that lets me feel optimistic about a major Pitt sports team is a welcome relief!

No they aren’t. The Semis and Finals of the Legends Classic are in Newark

Actually Chas, ESPN does not usually pick up games during the season. The schedule is usually set from Day 1

THANK GOD!!! The Pitt basketball schedule is out and not a moment to soon. Now that PITT hoops is on the map as a top 20 program, we can get excited and not be let down really. I am actually really excited about the cake schedule at the begining of the year with Fields injury. You don’t have to rush him back so you can have Wanamaker learn the ropes of PG a little more and then let the freshmen get more involved earlier too. Gilbert Brown needs a little more fine tuning, but overall this should be an interesting year.
That’s the thing with PITT hoops, we know there is a good chance of them not winning the NCAA title, but there is always a good chance of another BIG EAST banner and I am always happy with that. I am really hoping this is the year they get over that Sweet 16 hump.

Ah, remembering “LETS GO, PITT” reverberating off the Garden walls after the Duke and Georgetown games gives me goosebumps.

I say that a finish beyond the Sweet Sixteen will make this year’s schedule the best ever. Cheers for Pitt hoops.

After flying up to Pittsburgh from Houston last weekend to see Wanny suck again I’ll save my money for basketball season. Newark with “Ws” will be better than a debacle at Heinz Field.
