Delays, delays, delays.
Effin’ turnovers are killing us. We should be up by 10 right now. Young’s foul trouble isn’t helping, either.
On a brighter note. Wannamaker and McGhee have been playing well while the veterans have underperformed.
Would like to see Blair convert inside. He’s got Gray-itis.
The good news is, there’s no way he can be this bad in the second half. Plus I imagine Young would get a lot more minutes unless he picks up another foul real quick.
They just need to tough it out. Blair had the worst half of his career shooting. Saw coach Dixon in Young’s face, obviously disappointed in Sam’s first half effort.
PEOPLE THINK I’M FUCKING INSANE – THESE ARE THE WORST FUCKIN REFS EVER.

WE are doomed!!
Rather be lucky and good. Maybe the biggest shot of the year…and maybe saved a season,
Cannot get over what a defensive liability Biggs is. He got back screened all night long and has absolutly no defensive sense of space.
Maybe it is all my years of coaching BB, but I have never seen worse refs than tonight and recently at Pitt games. We just got mugged all night.
As the gunner would say though ” we had em all the way”!
Jump off some buildings you snakes!!
That game was very wierd. West Virginia couldn’t buy a basket inside or a free throw, yet could make threes with small midgets tied to their backs blindfolding them while wearing cinder blocks on their feet.
Pitt, on the other hand, couldn’t make shots from just about anywhere all night, had a lot of calls go against them. Yet still pulled it out.
Thank God for Ron Ramon and for WVU’s inability to make a simple free throw.
Huggins reminds me of a slimey mob boss.
penetration and kick-out by Benjamin that gave Ramon a wide open look–and he nailed it–that was a beautiful shot!! Finished 40% from the floor, and 33% from 3 pt range–thought Young should have had the ball more in the last few minutes–but I will take a win with the bad calls (How is Blair called for a foul when the guy is all over his back!!) and a sub-par shooting performance from Blair.
haha. sorry. SO PUMPED! HAIL TO PITT!
Are we going to win a game the rest of the year by more than single digits?
Ramon is 1-1 now on game winning posessions since field’s been gone.
More bad news (if not mentioned above) – fields won’t be back before louisville. That leaves us 3 more games before he’s back, and 5 with him to get ready for the “run to the finals.”
Glad Ramon hit the big shot though. He needs the confidence. I am pumped that Pitt pulled it out.
Note to the Zoo- Loved the 13-9 signs!!
We played like dung most of the way, and got reamed by the officials (again). Amazing feat to win.
Last two possessions were extremely well designed (if the Blair to Benji was indeed designed). Nice and ironic that Dixon outcoached the best two coaches he’s faced this year in the final minute.
Hail to Pitt
Again, incredible win and just freakin’ awesome to see Ramon hit a game winner like that, but general frustration points:
1) Lack of ball movement on offense. Early in the season (admittedly, against lesser teams), that ball was always moving, inside out, quickly, creating openings. Without Fields, the poor passing, particularly into Young and Blair on the box, is a significant problem.
2) Blair getting mugged on every rebound. He goes up, gets the ball, and three hoopies are raking his arms. And and I don’t want to hear a GD word from any Hoopie fans about those free throws taken off the board, because it was pretty freakin’ obvious from the replay they showed about 8 times that it was Blair who got fouled on that play.
3) Young, despite his pouting, was definitely back in the groove in the second half and there is absolutely no excuse for him to have barely touched the ball in those last 4 minutes or so. At 50-45, I hardly recall him touching the ball, yet alone getting a shot. That was very frustrating.
4) Even once Fields comes back, if Ramon, Benjamin, and Brown continue to miss wide-open 3s, we’ll be lucky to make the sweet 16. You cannot open up a lead if you can’t consistently make uncontested shots.
All of that said, they showed some heart and discipline in that last minute and pulled out just an incredible victory over those freakin’ Hoopies. Beautiful.
