This Is Almost Getting Comical

Filed under: Injury — Dennis @ 5:22 pm

Another injury.

Jason Pinkston out for the season after shoulder surgery.

Better to get him fixed now then waste anymore time. They should have made this call last week.

I watched the Pitt show on FSN today – I didn’t see the game on TV, but from the 2 minutes of “highlights” – you sure could see some awful players. Cox is about as bad as they come – can’t defend, can’t tackle. What a joke. On the opening kickoff – not only does “toerper” touch the ball early, instead of falling on it he trys to pick it up on the run, kicking it ahead to Virginia instead. Thatcher was terrible in coverage on one TD and McKillop ran himself out of a play on the TD where the RB walks in untouched. What a mess that D is. I guess the MSU game was the abberration.

From what I saw, Bostick has nice touch on his passes. I guess i’ll see more in 9 days – someone is giving us free tickets to see the Navy game. So i get to see this mess in person. Awesome?

What you saw on that onside kick was an optical illusion. That play never fails in practice.

I recall during the Foge Fazio era that the injury excuse was the mantra for that train wreck of a 3-9 season….guess what ? it wasn’t the injuries….Foge’s teams in the following years continued to stumble and bumble their way to sub-mediocrity….it was the coach, his staff, and their culture of non-winning….I am afraid we are in the midst of Johnny Majors Part Tre with Wanny….somehow good coaches and good programs overcome the injuries and at least field a competent team…this team has failed on so many fronts…ahhh forgedddaboutit…..I’m outta here

Deter you are right, yes the injuries played a part, but in year three of DW there is no excuse for such poor play and the embarrassing mess that goes on out there. Its time to face facts, its time for a change. DW’s a good guy, but hes not our coach.

[…] With the season-ending surgery on Jason Pinkston because of injury, it’s time to once again point out how well that change in strength and conditioning program has worked out this season. A significant portion of the S&C training load is dedicated to drills that serve to reduce the possibility of sustaining an injury. In this regard, a great deal of special exercises are performed during the advanced stage of the warm up, which precedes the primary phase of the workouts, that target the muscles that articulate the neck, shoulders, hips, and knees.
