BlogPoll Final, Week 7

The bloggers have spoken and Pitt comes in at #24. You can see individual ballots here. By this standard, I actually underranked Pitt by putting them at #25. Apparently, the number of voters down on their school more then others has dwindled to this point, because that small deviation actually got me on the “straight bangin'” list.

I just can’t believe VT still got votes after the way they were undressed by BC on the field and Kirk Herbstreit in the booth last Thursday.

Just got back from 3 days in New Orleans – nobody there seemed too interested in the PITT-Rutgers match-up. Can you believe that? Heathens. For some reason the Saints are all they care about.

Should’ve taken a left turn into MS, home of Hugh and Rooster.

Actually did spend part of a day flying over MS – I had the opportunity to see the MS coastline on the day after Katrina hit last year from a Coast Guard helo’s perspective – and it was devastated, and wanted to see what kind of progress was made with a year past. Slow to say the least.

Speaking of Hugh Green though, I got into a bar ‘debate’ about which college players had the most impact on their college teams/games and my nominee was Hugh Greene. Other teams had to game plan around him much like the Pro teams did when Lawrence Taylor was in his prime. The only other guy that I could think of who made as much impact might have been Herschel Walker (you can guess my age by this argument).

A generation before, back in ’68, Pitt had no game plan for the shellacking this guy link to profootballhof.com
gave when he was at U of Miami. Horrific tactical move during the game by Dave Hart: Run the play to his side. Final score Miami 58 Pitt 0.
