I’m mildly surprised Pitt didn’t makeeither poll. Not a big deal, but with the total domination on a game that everyone saw — no competition is the bright side to the Friday night game — with all the upsets. It was more surprising that Georgia and Iowa stayed in the polls with 2nd straight losses to teams that don’t exactly have football heavyweight reputations. Just more incentive for the team to take care of business against Rutgers on Saturday.
It is confirmed, that the game will be played at 5:45 and shown on ESPN2. Rutgers is ranked, so this will be big. Imagine that, a homecoming with big implications. Those class reunion dinners will be cancelled or changed to brunch.
ESPN BOTTOM 10 will not change for the Owls 2 year streak at or near the Top of the bottom with their latest blowout (or masacre), courtesy of Clemson 63-9.
I wonder what kind of argument Paul would make for Temple after a Cinci effort that made for a VERY close game against #6 L’ville… ? (Anyone inclined to chat w/ Zeise will stick it to him on Thurs. I hope.)
There’s no doubt that PSUcks will add to their win column after having renewed their long-standing “rivalry” against the always-competitive Owls. That should be a thriller (or more aptly, “a hoot”) — way to go joe, the Lion faithful will be on the edge of their seats in this much anticipated FALL CLASSIC.
Later, y’all. I’m heading to ebay this very instant to unload my tickets. I could use the $5 bucks… what a joke
I hope JoePants lives forever. He is not helping them out. That was a gutsy move to add Temple to the schedule. He was thinking about adding Pitt but wanted some real competition. Remember, Temple scares the hell of JoePants. That’s much better than when a team scares the crap out of him. He’d have to buy yet another pair pants.
I am not surprised that we are not ranked, nor do I think that we should be. Bascally, we beat all the teams we were supposed to beat, and beat them soundly. That is a marked improvement from the last two years. The one team we played with talent on our level, soundly beat us, at home. That was sickenly familiar to the last two years. This weeks game against Rutgers will show how far we have come, or how far we need to go. If we beat Rutgers, I think that we will move into the top 20.
