Tomorrow’s News Sought Today

Talk about fishing for a story.

The West Virginia Mountaineers have captured the college basketball worldÂ’s heart with their magical run through the Big East and NCAA tournaments. But has these inspired efforts been enough to win over Pitt fans — and if so, why?

The Tribune-Review is looking for Pitt fans/students who have hopped upon the West Virginia bandwagon as the Mountaineers prepare to play in the Sweet 16.

It was easy to root for the Hoopies against the ACC and Wake Forest. The only reason I can back them now is strictly utilitarian and cynical — for the overall honor of the Big East, and to make Pitt’s losses to them appear a little less embarrassing.
